Praise to all the 800's

I bought a new 09 M8 this year but think all the new 800 sleds are going to be great. I ride in a group where there are XP's, Dragons, and M8's. It was nice to read the article from snowest on the new 800's and hear that they are as close as ever. Competition is good and the big 3 with there 800's are only going to get better. It's going to be a fun snow year no matter what you ride. I get tired of hearing how much better one sled is over the other. What matters is what you feel comfortable on and like to ride. The most important thing is to have fun with your friends and family and enjoy the great outdoors.

ya i agree i loved my m7 it was a toss up between the 09 m8 and d8. i got the dragon i hope its to close to tell so i dont have any regrets that new tracks seems to be pretty good if it works in set up snow. i had a attack 20 and loved it in pow but ended up buying a challenger extreme hope the new one does everything well. maybe highmark with be the rider and not sled (i know lots of opinions on this im talking about equal abilities)it would be cool to a ride on each and get to the same spot.

I’m with ya. It should be a great year to see all the 800’s on the hills. Personally I think that they all are good sleds with the main difference being the color. I have a M1000 and my buddy will have a 09 D8. It should be fun!:D

Let's raise our glasses

:beer;:beer; I agree too . . Been on an M8 last two seasons, great sled. the 09's have great potential. Wanted to try doo this year, the light weight and horsepower are intriguing. Hope I'm not dissapointed, it sure looks bad a$$ sitting on the lift! The group I ride with has all three, and nobody is unable to keep up.

The group we ride with includes 2 Revs, 2 dragons, an XP, an 06 M7, 07 M8, 08 M8 and an 09 M8. And on a good day of riding they are all excellent.

Who are you? Don't you know that you can't make a reasonable post that doesn't bash on one (or more) brands and say that there is no comparison between brand A and brand B?

Really though, it is nice to see a thread that hasn't (yet) turned into a bash-fest.

I am not going to bash on any of the sleds... but since you asked here is how I see our collection of sleds. We ride mostly deep powder and do more boondocking than hill climbing so that is the perspective I come from. For handling, I prefer the cats to the doos and I did ride a rev for 3 years so I have some experience with them. I prefer the neutral balance when carving and I found the doo balance to be more affected by throttle. On the cats I can be on or off the throttle and it still holds its line. The dragon is very close to the cat in handling and the XP is better than the rev.

For climbing in powder the XP was the best (haven't had the 09 M8 out yet, might be close) followed by the dragon, then a 154 rev, then the 08 M8, then the M7 (attack 20), then the 07 M8 (yes, in deep powder the attack 20 made the difference on the M7 but on set up snow, the M8 would take it), then the 141 rev. All the cats are 153's. Any yamahas that have come out with us struggled in the deep snow compared to the two smokes but they weren't turbos.

I am not brand loyal as I have owned all but yamaha. Right now it is cat for me and yes my cat did tow an XP out last year.

Good thread so far....hopefully nobody stirs the pot. Looks to be a great year for the big three, they all seem to be very close, I'm excited....Let the snowballs fly

Nice ride group ESM, our damn group consists of 01 900mt cat 144, 05 REV 151, 06 m7 162, 06 m7 153, SRX, 2 mountain maxs, 600 renegade, 800 renegade, 05 rev 144, 2 proX 800, 07 maxz 440 and 3 dragons and 1 RR lol... In the deep the 162 M7 dominates in both track positions. the mt cat was by far the fastest, the SRX sounds the best, the revs still everybodies favorite to ride, and the guy on the dragon and RR is my bestfriend so... i like all brands!

What a long post, we got snow in AK!!!!!!!!

if this post came up three years ago my group woulda been all poos ranging from 99rmks and newer, but going into this year we got an 01 rmk 7, 02 rmk 7, 03 rmk 8, 07 dragon, 08 rmk 7, 2 06 m7s, and 3 or 4 revs ranging from 04-06. and in the past we've even had a mountain max or two. so as time goes by our group is gettin more diversified. i'd agree that the new sleds are way close, u just have to pick which one fits you the best and what color you like.

screw arctic cat!!

just kidding, ive riden an m7 numerous times and i love it. i love anything as long as its got power and can get me from a to b having fun
