Powerclaw Track Mod

I

IDAHO HOT SHOT

Its getting that time of year again when I stand silent and motionless in front of my sled and say to myself, "what can I do next?" So Here goes my idea. I have a 153 Powerclaw on my 09 800 RMK. I have read many post about the F-Bomb track mod. I am curious to hear everyones opinion on this. What do you think of running a long screw in the inner claw, opposite side of the powder paddle? The track works well in the powder but lack grab where the camo would grab. Would this cause premature wear? Would the lugs rip off? Let me know your pros n cons:grouphug:

I was also thinking of trying that, seems like a reasonable applicaton if it works on the 5.1 track. I've got an extra pc sitting in the shop, might as well give it a try.

Just move to Utah, Then you don't have to worry about that hard snow stuff !
Actually that sounds like a pretty good idea. So are you going to run a screw from the bottom side of the track ? Up through the finger ? That's how I would do it.

I have done it to my hill climb sled and it works great on hard pack, dirt, rocks, stumps and ice. I trimmed the whole track and put 4 screws per paddle. Thats a bit extreme but I get great traction. We did my old mans track as well but only put two screws every fourth paddle. Gives traction on those ice sections getting to the POW. Notch the paddle with a razor just big enough for the head of the screw. Highly recommended

No no you dont use the screw for traction just the head of it. You drill it down into the paddle and let just the head stick out. here is what the screws look like
