Power Addictions head claim true?

P. A. claims 10+ hp increase with his head and HPS can combo, sounds a little high. Can we get any hp from just a can? SLP claims 3hp on their head. So, what the feeling out there? New Pro is coming home on Wednesday, the tinkeritis is getting worse each day.

I'm no expert, but I'm thinking the can doesn't add any horsepower but does reduce weight and works the same as the stock. The head on the other hand I think will add about 5 horsepower but will feel like 10. This motor loves compression especially at elevation...

How many horse powers are in a length? I'm fuzzy at this performance math conversion stuff. What I can't finger out is how my 143HP sled slaughters bone stock 165 HP sleds and even some that are filled full of 190HP parts! WTF? Is it magic? Could we be discussing "quarter" horse powers or "draft" horse powers? Maybe those other horse powers had a split hoof or couldn't clean up their morning oats? Let's race for money from the gate straight or around two turns you decide!

Oh FYI the head just works on the PRO and its that simple. :becky:

Hahaha nicely put F-bomb!

The hp numbers war is ridiculous with this sled. it's gotta be about seat of the pants feel and getting it to the ground. I've seen stock, clutched (my sled last year) side by side with a sled with only clutching, a slp intake, pa head, and dynoport can and it was so much snappier than mine. Stock these sleds are amazing, but they respond so well to these simple mods.

I had a head on order....then I canceled it, ordered a low compression pa head and a silber can...it's got some funky snail looking thing attached to it :face-icon-small-con

I would venture to say, with the exception of clutching, best minor mod that can be done to the sled.

I would not go as far as to say 10hp, but for $700 according to multiple people with the set up. It will put you about a half a sled length behind the $2,000 S.L.P. set up. So I felt for the money I was better of with Brad's combo. I have got it on my 2012 Pro as we speak with zero miles and just waiting on snow.

when u say 10hp extra what head from P.A. i'm guessing the 13.6:1..i was deciding on a head as well but think i'll try it out as is and go from there....but leaning towards the 13.1 and not sure the 12.5 is even worth it.

Hi guys . The 10 hp is a solid number in the bottom to mid range. That is what you will notice the most is how much snappier your engine will feel. You will see a 6-7 overall on the big end!!! Still very impressive to boot for the combo. Brad

I will be buying a head too, I just don't know if the 13.1 will be the best improvement. I may go with the 13.6 and just make sure I'm running around a 95 octane mix if I'm not at higher elevations. Elevation I'll be riding at depends on the time of year. Is the 13.1 much of an improvement or should I go for the 13.6?

Depends on how much difference there is in the elevation and how much you want to spend on race fuel all the time.

Brads Head

Compression on our guage here in Southern Idaho on an 11 Pro was 120# Stock.

Added the 13:6:1 head and it jumped to 150#. I don't doubt the horsepower rating with that kind of compression jump. At 10,000ft it is gonna be huge.:face-icon-small-ton

Weird how the Poo gets deto with that, when my Doo cranked 149 out of the box brand new, and always ran on 87 octane with no worries. Any way I think I will be buying the 13.6 head and mix a bit of av gas for mid season when we drop at 3000 to and ride to our spots around 6-8000

Hey Rob are you running the 13.6 dome. I still have my HPS can from last years sled that I can put on the 12 model. And what did you do with the clutch. If I remember you also have a Tied clutch.

Freaked me out too when I checked the compression of my Pro last month (being used to having Doo's). But the timing is advanced quite a bit more for the Pro in comparison to the Doos and that is why you can still get deto!

Have FUN!
