Just got done doing the latest tweak from Dave (its on totallyamaha if you haven't seen it yet and i think he e-mailed it out to quite a few) and if you think you ran well before wait till you do this. The stumble on the bottom end is all but gone and Dave says if I take the time to play with the fuel regulator that I can make it completely disappear. Major improvement. The earlier tweaks helped, but this one is the nuts.

So you tapped into the ITC or the charge tube?? I did that today and loaded the new map, hopefully try it tomorrow. You know,I didn't have a stumble before, this could be reall interesting.

Really? I'm going to boost my nytro soon, Powderlights is one of the kits I'm looking at. Id like to hear an objective view on it. What kind of problems is he having. And how do you compare it to your nytro? Thanks Dave

I tapped mine into the charge tube and my stumble is pretty much gone. Not completely, but it is a major improvement from what it was before.

I too tapped into the charge tube (in a weld so it had more material to work with) and other than the stumble have not had any other problems with this kit, not sure what is happening with Sawyer's dad, but all has been good with mine.

Mine also has been turn the key and go just as stock. My early troubles were being too lean WOT but new mapping has fixed that. As far as the stumble , my sled has never had a stumble so if this does helped the others it can only make mine even better.

Gas and Go for mine!! 800 km so far and only some mapping tweaks.. Just been running twelve #s boost.. Sleds a blast to ride!!
Had one issue with the air intake hose but it was a quick fix..

The one I set up had a oil return line issue with the POS trail tank. But I thought the new map that I loaded Dec 19 I think??? Man it is spot on lots of low end snap and I could not load up the motor even when I tried choping the throttle in and out super fast. Might do the new update this summer on it for my customer free of charge.

There were some growing pains in this kit.

1. Needs better instructions (WAY BETTER)

2. Get rid of the stupid tinfoil intake

3. Stainless braided lines for oil return and even the cooling lines.

4. Get a good boost controller (boost smart) the one in the kit sucks

5. New airfilter that comes with a 90deg bend up

Other than that it seems to be a great kit.

I can't remember all of them, there was so many. More than half of the kit has to be customized to actually fit the sled, instructions are horrible, his turbo had a bad weld and was spewing antifreeze everywhere, map sensor was bad, had about 3 reflashes so far and still has the stumble, pressure regulator was bad, air filter freezes up horrible, intercooler, boost controller and on and on.

The kit runs good, except for the stumble but there should have been so more fit and finish work for the money you pay.

Bosst for boost it runs harder than my mcx and has a little more response. His at 12 lbs and mine at 14 are pretty even

I've been thinking about installing the trailtank, what issue did you have with the oil return line and the tank?

yes i had the exact fixes. built my own snorkel for air filter, found rad hose with a mean bend in it to replace tin foil. and just picked up new boost controller. although i have to add the clutch kit you can buy with kit was more or less dead on for me. just some spinning of the shockwave helix and go!!

new tweak?

Anyone have the link to the ty thread????

nevermind.......got it.

Well 1. the trail tank was there older style that did not fit worth a hoot worst part was they had the new style out and yet sent the old style

There is just not very much room to run any of the lines so you must be very very carefull in how you place the lines so the oil return does not get pinched.

Like I said hopefully Dave is reading this and will have these changes that everyone has done for next year.

Sorry about that kit Chris sounds like your Dad has had the worst luck out of all of us.

PL Kits

My problems started with the install. Was done by a shop that only has MCX experience. Poor instructions for sure. Dave and Darren had the chance to go through this from end to end though and found where several serious mistakes were made. They fixed everything but pointed out that there was no need to fab anything if the kit was properly installed. Next time I will take the sled there and let them do it even though it's 15hrs away.
Boost controller is poor. A/F gauge NFG(sensor?) and sled runs like it's rich at lower rpm's(up to 5,000 or so). Runs good after that and makes good power. Lots of rough stuff coming down to idle and a bit of a stunble when you hit it. Have the newest map and will be doing the vaccum thing soon. Hope that's the fix.
If anyone is concerned about product support rest assured these guys are top notch. There does not seem to be a time of day when they won't entertain a question or concern.

I had the same list...and just addressed them all except for the boost control. I put a stainless braided oil return line in along with a 90 deg fitting from the oil pump to the banjo bolt and it works awesome...no chance of anymore kinks when the lines heat up:D

Just have to get it on the snow and try it again!!

I have installed just about every brand of turbo and supercharger out ther and this was by far the easiest to install. No fabbing was required that I know of other than the new updates requiring you to weld a fitting in the charge tube. What I think is lacking on this kit is the instructions. With better instructions it would be a lot easier for most to install.

The big plus to this kit is the RB3. After working with all the controllers available, this puppy is the bomb! We are working on a tweak for the intake to keep it more protected for deep powder.
