POLL: What's everybody using for gear?

Columbia jacket
North face pants
burton snowboard boots
I catch grief for the boots because they are stiff, I actually like having that support feet have never gotten cold. I always stay dry, sweat like a stuck hog though.

guess I'm the only one

I use coldwave and love it. HJC helmet, windriver boots that are awsome, and cheap kombi gloves that have always worked fine for me. It all comes together to keep me warm, dry and happy

Which set, OK newest first;
686 snow board pants and shell, pants are toughest material I've ever seen.

older set still good;
The Northface Guide Series Goretex Parka shell,(Klim guys were north face designers before they started Klim), Far West Canada Goretex Shell Bibs.

When it gets really cold or to show off at the bar. Older 2004 Skidoo hole shot
coat with either of the above pants or down vest under either shell coat.

Always on under neath: polypro or merino wool under garments, fleece midweight shirt and botoms.

Feet:
Always wool socks
New Sorel Snowboard boots
Old Altimate boots, I didn't like because botoms wore out fast on running board traction

Arctiva Gloves
Scott Turbo Flow Yellow Goggles

Last years gear:

Bibs I got for like 50% off on the internet, HMK or some such... (tag says waterproof)
A fairly expensive brand ski jacket (tag says water proof)
Cabalas hunting boots (tag says waterproof)
I don’t remember the gloves; they're for sledding but thin. (has a big R on them?)

Anyways I was constantly wet, the bibs were always falling down from coming unbuttoned, when I got back to the truck I froze my freaking arse off but sweated like a dog riding. (Imagine if I had to spend the night out being sopping wet?)

I figured the sorry crap I had for gear was costing me a lot of quality riding time, and sapping my energy. Nothing wears you out faster than wet sticky gear that over heats you when riding and freezes you when you’re not riding.

This year I'm sporting Klim head to toe.
I didn't want to spend the money; basically my new pipe/can/Ypipe money went to quality gear..

After all, if I'm wore out and wet I’m not riding worth a crap anyways...might as well be comfortable and ride hard and not worry if my sled is a tic faster or not.

Question for all the Klim Valdez guys. What do you wear underneath them? I bought a Klimate last year because I wear it everywhere, not just riding, and love it, but was thinking of buying an uninsulated one this year....

Just depends on the temp as to how much I layer underneath it. Some days I don't need much. Really cold weather, and I use my Klim Everest underneath.

Underarmour base, polartech fleece and whatever is on sale bibs and 10 year old shell that I don't even remember the brand. HJC lid is ok, not great. Going to try 509 goggles when I can afford them. Tried Scott and Oakley without great results. Also going try coldwave 3 finger mits as I haven't found good gloves that work in cold.

I started wearing KLIM the year they came out and continue to wear them top to bottom, and got the first and now the biggest dealer up and running in colorado.......(not with-out a fight=your welcome!),
I like shoei hats, and any light weight leather glove, and wear Schnee boots.

Klim all of the way for me too! Except the boots, just haven't bought a set yet!

On a side note: Whats the name of your dealership? Maybe I'll give ya a call about some boots!

(Klim guys were north face designers before they started Klim)

I personally know the two guys that started Klim and they did not design for North Face. before they started Klim they were both on LDS missions.

Since I know the two guys that started Klim I will proudly wear anything else. Right now I am in a to be regulator jacket, to be provoke pants, and to be helmet. HMK boa's and gloves and a Tekvest.

coldwave coat
cheep bibs from runnings farm and fleet
and some boots from the local military store
all works great and it dont mater if something gets riped or anything cheep to replace i think i got 200 into everything i wear

i dont see how you guys can afford towear KLIM stuff from head to toe! that stuff is xpensive but i have heard great things about them! i would love to have some but i could never afford it lol. all i wear is a Columbia coat, cheap snowboardin pants and my huntin boots and guid gear gloves....im cheap....

seized up...I had to double take your post on the "knowing" Klim guys and then what you wear....since Tek makes the klim sweater vest semi protective riding vest you better throw it away and get a BWEAR! te he:D

i am an all around gear wearer. i have marmot pants with klim sweats underneath. (i plan on getting the new klim freerides soon). with a scott impact coat with bunny boots and goretex gators. and a underarmour headsock. i stay really dry but on wet snow days i get wet through my worn marmot pants.

Klim All The Way

Klim head to toe with a B-Wear vest in between. Nothing better, at least not from what I've seen.

Oakley coat and pants, dakine gloves+REI cold weather mountain bike gloves, Danner boots, Bell moto 8 helmet, Scott goggles, Camel Back pack, and of course, my trusty Orthovox beacon.

Just wear my old arctic cat coat (all black with a green stripe, not hot pink and purple with checkers or anything) and bibs, mechanix gloves (handguards help), and team arctic helmet. I still stay warm and dry. I'd love to have new klim stuff...maybe next year.
