My own sled at 23 ,97 670 summit rode that for few years then moved to lake havasu and got into jet skis. Had enough of the heat and moved back to Oregon. Been riding ever since.

45 years, and I think I can still hang with the kids.
Over 4600 miles in the mountains last year.
First sled was a new 1967 Polaris. I'll see if I can find some race pictures from the early '70s.

Started riding as a young passenger in a pull behind sled at the age of 3 in 1976 then grew up to ride a Yamaha 340 Enticer and then was fortunate to feel the raw horsepower of an Arctic Cat Cheetah 5000. Grew up riding in Washington State and rode the Cle Elum area on a 1980 Arctic Cat Lynx 250, single jug man that baby was a scorcher in fact it got so hot you could only ride it for 10 miles and it would quit(had badly scored cylinder). Then a 1986 Indy Sport and then we moved to the Sierra and had too take a couple of years off and jumped back on a 94 Indy 500EFI and haven't stopped since.

97 Summit 670
99 700 RMK
99 Summit 600 (girlfriend now wife's sled, best thing I ever did getting her into riding, no joke there)

After that many years why do all still ride like a girl?

Dukie, I'm POSITIVE you are directing that one at Kim....all we know is that he was intro'd to sleddin by riding D to B....and he STILL rides that way whenever he gets a chance.

First ride was 1966 when I was 12 years old on a Johnson Evinrude snowmobile.......guessing they were about 15 - 18 horse power........then we got an AMF SkiDaddler with the big twin cylinder Kohler two stroke, remember you had to make sure your coat didn't cover the carb intake or it would die. Dad purchased three new Arctic Cats in 1970, a Panther 440, Cheetah 340 and a Lynx 300 single. We rode those things all over the Central Idaho Mountains, they were very light weight and much better than the older sleds, great memories!

Started riding a motoski Capri around 1968. 50+ years and counting pounding the snow. now at 62 and retired still can't get enough. my ride is now a 800 axys 155 with mods. when this 800 has seen its better days i will ride an 850 axys 155. i have had to many other snowmobiles to list. But i am sure glad that they have been improved so much. Summer is for riding a beta 300rr on single track. It helps to have handle bars in your hands 12 months a year.
