polaristar warranty

Mike,

That is really awesome news..I'm sure others will be glad to hear it as well. I was wondering on how everthing was going with your case.

Congrats to Eagle River Polaris (ERP) & Polaris for standing behind their product & supporting one of their loyal customers.
thanks Jim..hopefully no one else has to go thru this..been 7 months to this point..am glad the Ag went to bat for me as well...........

A couple of weeks isn't too bad considering the good news.. I'm with Murph and want you to stay with Poo so we can keep sharing your valuable knowledge.

They have no idea how far they just pushed a true loyal customer . Everyone that has any knowledge of you knows that . akrevrider stated it perfectly . Maybe it's time for a four stroke :jaw:

HELP

has anyone successfully transferred this warranty after purchasing a used sled? i just bought a used 2012 under the pretense that it has 3 more years of bumper to bumper warranty. i am trying to transfer the warranty to my name and this polaristar company is making it very difficult to do so. their customer service is very rude, defensive and un-helpful. i have sent in the paper work and money that my dealership said was necessary and Polarisar said that it was done incorrectly and that i need to pay more. pay more then what is printed on their transfer form. worst of all i'm under a time deadline of 30, which they starting counting from our first conversation. it is looking like i will not have any warranty due to their technicalities. has anyone experienced this and why is this company so shady?

find out who the district rep is in your area and contact him, explain whats going on, back it up with copies of paperwork and see if he can fix it up for you, other wise, contact your states attorney general and file a complain.....

Good news Mikey, now I will have a Pro to ride when I crash your pad...While you work....

That just happened!

I thought i would give an update on my 11...........3 weeks ago, my dealers salesman called to tell me the two 13 163's I checked had come in, I told him I would stop in and talk to Paul(the owner) in a few days..So I did, told Paul after what I was going thru on my 11 there was no way I was going to purchase the 2 13's..He said he understood and said he would even return my 2 deposits..I also while I was there signed the warranty authos to allow them to complete the aproved repairs on my 11(mechanical/ electrical parts totalling about 6 grand) and told him to call me when it was done and I would come get it..do the rest of the repairs myself before putting the sled up for sale(another 1700 in plastics and other things the warranty refused to cover)..
So this morning I got a call from Paul saying the warraty repairs were done..he had spent the last few days talking to both the AG and to the Polaris Liason officer(not our dist rep)and between Polaris industries and the dealer they are going to go ahead and repair the rest of the damages..he said he already ordered the parts and will call when its ready to pick up..
I WANT TO THANK BOTH PAUL(EAGLE RIVER POLARIS ARCTIC CAT) AND POLARIS INDUSTRIES FOR STANDING BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT.......with that said, I have no idea what the AG will do(my hope is they will continue to investigate this and in the end every voided warranty claim made will be reveiwed as well as all future claims will be covered properly...when I learn more I will share it ..thanks..mike

Really happy to hear you are getting it taken care of and thanks again for sharing your experience.
Sounds like your dealer is a stand up guy.

I am having a hard time understanding why you are thanking polaris after all that you have had to go through over this situation?:painkiller:

Regardless, Congrat's on the outcome!

I wonder about that too...but they are covering the additional parts, my sled will be back to what it was before this happened..and I didnt have to go too balistic either...

They are doing this in Canada as well.

When I snowchecked my 2012 pro rmk I selected the 3 year bumper to bumper offer on the parerwork. I took delivery of my sled and got the polaristar warranty information in the mail about a month later. Reading the coverage I had one year of polaris factory warranty and 2 additional years of polaris esc coverage. The coverage was for powertrain only.

I first contacted my dealer and had them look into it. They got the regional rep involved and for around 5 months it went nowhere even with assurances everyone was trying to get results. I got fed up and called the 1-800 number and explained my situation to a consumer satisfaction agent at polaris industries. I was clear with them that I wanted to resolve this situation and was aware of my legal rights. I also has all original documents from ploaris stating the 3 year bumper to bumper warranty.

A few calls back and forth and over a month or so longer I finally had a polaris rep call me and we negotiated a settlement over the phone. The 3 year bumper to bumper was not available and they were not willing to honor it. After some back and forth I settled on taking a 3 year powertrain warranty and an $800 dealer credit to compensate for the difference in warranty coverage. They mailed out documents to me and my dealer stating as such and the dealer has been paid the credit.

During the talks with the various parties involved it became very apparent that Polaris was definitely false advertising and was just playing dumb about the mistakes. I got several excuses as to why it happened and why the bumper to bumper was not even available to me even after the fact.

I had a thread on here last year trying to get some more people to look at their papers and also on another forum but they did not generate much interest unfortunately.

Michelle at Oregon Trail Sports recommended to me that I go with an aftermarket warranty on my 13. She told me that she has had much better luck with warranty work going through another company. I took her advice, she has such a great reputation on this site, I trust her to look out for her customers. Polaris is clearly aware they are going to have a LOT of warranty issues and is doing everything they can to duck out of their legal responsibilities. I for one would not own a Poo without a warranty and will not mod anything on the drivetrain for fear of giving them any excuse to void my warranty(only have to rely on those scumbags for 1 year). I am a long way from Baker Oregon(OTS home) but Michelle assured me I could take my sled anywhere for warranty work with the company that she sold me on. Polaris should be ashamed.

I am hoping more peeps will stand up for their rights in the future..It;s not that hard to file a consumer claim with your states AG..thats what they are there for, you just need to make sure you document everything before the purchase...that was my whole reason for posting this thread....but I agree, if I ever do buy another sled, most likely I will find my own extended warranty...

scheduled maintenance

So when I got my 2013 my dealer told me that I needed to have them perform scheduled maintenance on it as stated in the manual, which is a lot, like 4 times by 1000mi. They said that polatistar may use this info to deny/grant claims. I think this is total bs but I was just wondering what other people thought. Never did and scheduled maintenance on my cat and every warranty claim was smooth.

Preventative maintenence needs to be done..but anyone competent can do it..it just needs to be well documented that it was done..doesnt matter as long as the person doing it is competent(home mechanic/regular sled shop/ dealer)..easy way to do it, pick up a package of work orders for a shop from a office supply(they are cheap) and a factory shop manual for your sled, every time sled has an issue write it up as a shop would, then write up what was done, staple any receipts to it and keep it..if ever asked, you have exactly what you would have if you took it to a shop..........
