Polaris underseat bag gets wet

Anyone else have problems with their Polaris underseat storage bag letting everything inside get soaking wet? I can't understand it. It stayed tightly zipped up and I was never in any wet conditions, just lots of powder. I can't figure out how it is getting wet inside. In any event, it makes the bag useless to store anything that can soak up water, like spare gloves, etc.

Anyone have ideas?

Thanks,
Rob

The zipper is no where near waterproof. Buy a dry bag for kayaking if you want to keep stuff absolutely dry, or zip lock bags.

I have had that bag on my 09 and now 11. It holds 6 cans of Fat Tire beer and some snow perfectly.

I had the same problem with the polaris bag on my dragon. If you did not want it to get wet you had to put it in baggies. The zipper would also get wet then freeze then be almost impossible to open. I bought the skins bag for my pro hoping it would be better. Everything still eventually gets wet when in the powder but the zipper is much better and always opens.

another thing to note is it is sitting on a hot tunnel, the snow that gets on it melts underneath it, i would think the bottom of the bag would be satured most of the time you are riding. i like the idea of storage there but the one my buddy had, had the same trouble with the zippers.

Stuff is going to get wet in there,as mentioned above heat from the coolers melting the snow on the tunnel.
I went to the local WalMart and in the camping section for $10 bought a 3 pack of small dry bags or you could just use some Zip lock bags.
Hitting the bag with some Scotchguard/Campdry waterproofer can't hurt either.

Snowpro and 'pete have it dead on ...

ANY bag sitting on the tunnel sits full time in a puddle of luke-warm water that sturates the bags.

SPG will be modifying their underseat bag with waterproof membrane to keep this from happening... Should be good...but not till next season.

The underseat bag is only good for one thing. A Snobunje. Ok maybe a water bottle too.

This is what I did, works perfect! I didn't know that Fat Tire came in cans! SWEET!!!!!

Thanks everyone. I didn't realize that the wetness of the tunnel would soak things so entirely up in the bag. I guess I'll try to limit that bag to impermeable things and/or get a dry bag.

The Skinz version keeps things drier than the Poo bag from what I've seen but my stuff still gets damp. If you're considering one get the Skinz.

Have FUN!
