polaris snowbike

How high do you get off that Polaris glue ? Lol

I highly doubt Polaris is building a bike , they have a hard enough time keeping there sleds together

Hahaha tell us how you really feel!! :face-icon-small-hap

Polaris snowmobile FB says ''something's coming our way feb 17th'' and we all know that the snowbike is DA thing of the future in mountain riding, so we'll see

I know they purchased several Snowhawks years ago, No doubt the major manufactures are looking at the single ski.

For sure they just can't ignore this segment now but the snowhawk concept was not well adapted to the mountain while a dirt bike with a track kit is the funnest and easyest machine to play with in the mountain. 35cms of fresh here in Whistler, going out for a rip soon :face-icon-small-hap on my 450 SX-F ST

Look like a new sled judging by the shape on the end of the bars. If its a one skied machine I can say that it is allredy to wide my the looks of the headlight windshield size.

For the record, we hit everything up that only the very experienced sledders were able to get to and no one was able to carve down, sidehill and ride gnarly lines we were doing on our snowbikes today :face-icon-small-hap

No doubt the MH is better for boondocking, But to say a hawk cant mountain ride is ridicules. Ive been riding both for almost 6 years.
The hawk started it all and still has its place, just a different tool for a different use.

lol, no its just their new short track model.

look at polaris pattern of release... this year new shorty. 2016 will be a new long tracked version of it. just like the rush>pro and just like the IQ rmk before that.

it will be a few years yet till you see any oem recognition of this sport. its popular to those of us who are involved, but step outside of it, guys still have no idea they exist and they live out here. let alone the MFG gang hanging in the midwest... not so much.

This was not what Boivin was aiming for actually. Is development plan was for a trail snowmachine and more adapted for flatland boondocking for the eastern and mid-west market. But I agree, different tool for a different use :face-icon-small-coo

Totally agree Gros Chein , in a way it's no different than the two skis . What sense is there having A-arms carving threw the snow , imagine how much better they would handle if they didn't have all that drag . On mine I'm still running the gen II , it isn't that big of a concern , I wont floatation not drag . The pace these machines set is also over looked . When we go out even if a sled is breaking trail , it always ends up that the Hawks are stopping and waiting for the rest to catch up or back tracking to see what's taking them so long .

If there was a Polaris snowbike built, do you think they'd actually figure out how to get the piston clearance sorted out at the factory?

I'd love to see these things go 100% mainstream. Competition is always good for the consumer!

Who cares what Bovin was after?. Their design was lack luster and fell short for sure, Their customer service and dealer network is what killed it.
Its taken the riders out west to design, mod and fabricate parts etc to make the hawk work in the mountains.
Mine works very well. could be better with a MTN Tamer skid.
Its Not near as good as a MH in the trees, but in the more open terrain, unless you have a turbo then you wont keep up.
I like riding both the Hawk and MH, they are far different from one another.

The sport is growing nicely, someone will eventually come out with a purpose built machine that will out preform anything we currently have today.

Alan, Your the man to make it happen, how about a chassis kit where the owner provide the powerplant, that might help with insurance and liability issues?

Isn't TLKD already doing this. His build looks very promising.
