polaris series 4 tracks

Looking at putting a 159 under my 780 mountain viper and I can get a new "polaris series 4" cheaper than the other camoplast tracks. Has any one tried these tracks or know how they work in the steep and deep compared to the old challenger or the challenger extreme? I can not find any info or feedback on the tracks and would like to know before I buy one. Thanks

Can't compare to the Challenger tracks, but I can tell you this- the Series IV is really good in deep snow and hooks up really nice but they BLOW on hard pack. The paddles are prone to ripping if you snag stuff under the snow from my experience.

had the series 4 on my last poo. after switching to challenger wish i would have done it when brand new. the polaris track is nothing too bad but doesn't hold a candle to the challenger tracks. it's more than worth the extra $150 or so price difference.

It depends what conditions you ride in the most, my series IV is really a great deep dry powder track but the more the snow sets up the challenger is better and in the spring thier is no comparison

Ditto, all depends on what you ride in most. Sevies iv is great in poweder.
Challenger much better in hard or wet mushy snow.

I weighed a old series 3 136 and a 155 series 4 the 4 was lighter. I love them. I cannot speak for the challenger. I can tell ya that the 4 is a camoplast. Mine is a year old and is in perfect shape!

Which paddle length are you talking about? Opinions are worth what you pay for them but the series 4 2.4 track is a dominate powder track.

The 2", I would say the Challenger is a better track.

But not in the 2.4/2.5 height.

my bros 02 rmk has the series 4 on it and my m7 has the 2.25 challenger on it and ive always thought his worked much better all around. hes always right there with me in the deep stuff and his seems to hook up alot better on the hard pack. i wouldnt hesitate to buy one, especially since you can get a brand new 159 series 4 for pretty cheap compared to others.

I just went from the stock 144 on my Viper to the 159 series 4 this year and was really pleased with how well the track preformed in the powder. Granted it is much longer than my old track so I can't give you a direct comparison. It also climbed really well but as the snow set up, a little stiffer lugged track my have preformed a little better.

Cost was also the deciding factor in my purchase.

FYI: If you are ordering your track through Western Power Sports the original series 4 is on indefinite back order but it supersedes to the light weight version. (It is ported and a thinner ply so I was told.)

i put a 159 series 4 on my 04 rev that was a 151x16 and thought it was a little better in the powder in cooke but didnt come close to the 06 revs with the 159x16,,series 4 was always a good all around track

My sled had a 151 notched challenger track on it when I bought it, trenching mother, hooked up on hard snow though. Swapped to a 159 series IV this off-season, best mod I've made. Of course this is the snow I've been riding in so far this year

i can guarantee you will not be disapointed in the series 4. hooks up way WAY better than a attack 20. maybe not quite as good as a challenger on hard pack.

I have the camoplast series 4 replica. It's 15x159x2.125 and it is awesome. Way better than the series 3 that was stock on my sled. I have not ridden it on hard pack yet but we'll see. I think I paid like 400$ through tracks usa. That was last april though. I'm sure they are more expensive now with all this powder flying. They were awesome to deal with btw.

My series 4 has a rip from a window almost to the outer edge.....If it rips all the way thru it will probably need to be replaced.....I'm not happy cause I never ride where there is anything to hit and only has 1700 miles

Ya hit something somewhere. I hit $hit all the time (I hate trails) mine is in perfect shape.

Who the hell cares how well a track hooks up on hard pack? Who sets a sled up for concrete? Not being a smart *** just curious.

Those of us pussies who have to ride trails to get to the fun spots or deal with hard spring snow trying to squeeze out every last ride we can for the year. Or anyone who rides at St. Helens- what a fuggin joke that place was.

We get hero snow in the spring, it will probably be 1/2 the season this year. I could see swapping tracks, but we always get the mashed potato snow with the concrete. Now all we need is gravy. I hate swapping tracks I have always just put up with the poor hook up.
