Thinking of buying the Mrs a 600 rmk 144. I havent found any issues, so I thought I would post in the wise polaris section for some in sight.

STD 2013 600 RMK is available in a 144. It comes without the carbon fiber overstructure that shatters, without the belt drive that blows out if you look at it wrong, without the Walker Evans that the experts don't like, and without some other bells and whistles. Get her a STD 155 so she doesn't get stuck as much. A 144 is not quite a powder sled.

Shes coming off a phazer and by no means an aggressive rider. We are looking at the STD rmk, but a think a 155" would be too much for her. Shes only 5'1" and 115 lbs. Not a big girl by any means. I'm hoping that there isn't any issues like the 800's. I'm more of a Yamaha guy and am out of touch with polaris sleds. Unfortunately, yamaha doesn't offer anything that would work for her.

The torsion spring suspension on the 144 might ride better. Something to think about.

Get her the 144". At 115 lbs it's enough track for her. The only sled that is more reliable would be the carbed version from '07 if you could find one for sale.

Better than a Phazer, or better than a 155? Phazer doesn't have much of a suspension so anything new is like riding on silk, in comparison.

I bought my wife a 2007 Phazer 144". What a complete turd! Nothing about it says mountain sled to me. No power and no sweet spot for leaning before falling over. Trenched like a motha! Not even a good trail sled as it tipped over without much warning. Electric start on a 4-stroke is cool until the battery goes dead and no pull starter. Not good. I sold it and went to 2 600 155"'s for the wife and kids and all is good now. I don't think it's too much track and my wife is 5'1" 115. Even the kids can handle them just fine. No regrets here!

Don't buy the 144 thinking it will ride better on trails. Rented one last year in West to try out for a day, was lookin for sled to upgrade daughter from m5, rode worse than m5 on trails -which rides like buckboard- and was no better in pow. This year bought pro600 155. Sweeeet sled, she has no problem handling it, plenty power, but easily managable. Rides great on trails & in pow - well, awesome. Daughter 4'10, 110lbs. Bonus: switchin off my pro 8 to pro 6 is absolute hoot. Pin & just go! :face-icon-small-hap

I got a 600 144, great little sled. Good power, handles pretty good in the fluff. Not much of a trail sled though, but I didnt buy it for that. Although I have the skiis narrowed right up/limiter strap all the way out. With the limiter strap in the middle hole it was pretty good on trail I must say though :yo:

Not looking for a back up sled. I have a nytro in case mine dies. Right now, I ride a 156" and its plenty for where we ride. I rode a 144" for a few years before that and its plenty for the Mrs. My concern was more of the motor and sled reliability compared to the 8's that seem to be having issues.

The phazer is a 2008.

Well I put 1800 miles on my 12 600 pro only one exhaust sensor went bad.

300 miles on my 13 600 pro and no problem.

There great sleds :face-icon-small-hap

I'm not sure does the 13 144 have the new style boards? I don't think they do. I would also check the scales is the standard 13 with a 144 more than a pro with 155? the 600 is a great choice. 144 vs 155 is a personal choice. I personally would take the pro 155. have fun with what you chose as I don't think you can go wrong either way.:face-icon-small-hap

He nailed it there! 2,900 miles on my 12 600 PRO and just traded it for a 13 600 PRO. It is sitting in the garage waiting to go out. I am 6'5" 220 lbs and have a riot on this sled.

How does the 12 600 Pro engine compared to the 13 600 Pro engine, since there was a new piston, stator and ECU in the 13?
