Polaris ProRmk New Technology Unproven Results

Fellas, Reading about all the issues of the new 2013 Polaris Pro Rmk. First off, are they really true or are people that do not like Polaris just fabricating stories to make the Pros look bad. If they are true, then Polaris has to address the issues right now and stop the bleeding. Remeber the 2005 RMK, that was going to revolutionize the industry. A friend of mine owned one and this is his quote. This is the biggest piece of S--t I have ever owned. So when manufactures come out with something that is going to revolutionize the industry and it does not work, then you have made it a lot worse for the poor suckers that bought the product. I have a 2011 Pro Rmk, stock and I absolutely love it. It has over 1,700 miles and has been trouble free. Clutching, motor, suspension, works flawless and it gets good gas mileage oil consumption is fantastic and pull the starter and go out and have a ball. I ride with 7 other guys that either have 2011 or 2012 Pros and all of them are stock with no issues, just pull the starter and ride. They love them and have not had any issues at all. So in conclusion. If they do have issues with the Pros especially in the motor department are the fabricated or just a hit and miss and you just have had bad luck. Personally I have been riding snowmobiles since 1968 and the industry has come a long ways. Problem is and this is just my 2 cents. Leave it stock, blow out the clutches after every ride, clean your belts often and just do routine maintenance and you will be very happy. Have fun riding. The Spudman:face-icon-small-hap

Of course it's all true, it's on the INTERNET. You can't put anything on the internet that isn't true, I'm surprised you didn't know that.

Spud:

Bingo! 'nuff said.

btw - '05 800 RMK's were great sleds. Our group bought 8 of them and we all rode the piss out of them. Only one had a problem and that was right out of the gate. My old one is still running strong at close to 4000 miles. Friend of mine bought it 4 yrs. ago. Take care of them and they'll take care of you.

I think he was talking about the 900.

Spud, people can't post up pics if it's not happening. And my '11 Pro was running perfectly with 2,000 miles on it. I could have buried my head in the sand and ignored the scuttlebutt about cracked skirts and excessive clearances, but I didn't. I tore down a motor that gave me no indication of problems w/ 2,000 miles. I could be like you and say that it is awesome, no problems, people must be making this **** up, but I didn't. I tore it down to find .010 clearance, or as one could say, sloppy as hell! I tore it down to find a cracked intake skirt, that sooner or later would have grenaded the whole motor. I'm glad that I didn't bury my head and ignore it. I'm glad that I didn't have brand blinders on and ignore it as some on this forum have done.

I have alot of friends on this forum, covering several states, and 2 of them have new sleds with broken drive shafts. So, is it true? Yes, there seems to be an issue with them. My guess is that it isn't a material issue, but more of a glue/bonding, or alignment issue. The alignment issue may even explain why some belts have stripped teeth, who knows. The thing about not having much snow on the ground yet means that we can all be keyboard jockeys until we can ride.

Alignment is the reason, according to a Norwegian dealer. He also stated that two days of production were affected, and that following, no fix-kit would work. The affected owners would be contacted.

Anyone have more info on this or heard this too!?

Where are all these pictures? I may have missed them but the only one I was was of the stripped belt on the Pro that was being rode off the road in like 10" somewhere in MT.

Oops. Forgot about the 9. Yup, that was a POS. Glad I never got one of them. One guy I know up at Tahoe had one and ended up donating it to Search & Rescue, as he couldn't sell it.
