08 dragon went down today with update,our dealer got off phone with polaris,they are not warranting any motors with slp pipe and can. sounds like it might be time for law suit.

I hate to say it but i think you are right.I would love to get rid of my 09 dragon with 165 miles on it.I dont even like to go to the iq forum any more as it just makes me feel more like we got a real lemmon.Dealer who did up date on my sled said nothing about slp pipe and can. They came from polaris. I have not used my sled since the up date. So i have a real nice trailer sled to look at! Motor stuff is bad now ecu and all the other things.Wish the thing was a 700 they work. Thank god i have 2 other sleds that i trust. If they do not make these sleds right for every one i will never own a polaris again. I feel bad for the people who only have one sled that goes down and lose half there season after spending good cash on there sled. I will get a Yamaha as my next sled. I dont care if they weigh more.At least i will feel good about not being stranded some place.
traded in 700 dragon w/ slp pipe and can to dealer for 08 800 dragon. dealer kept pipe and can on 700,and put slp pipe and can on 800 in exchange. if i would had any idea about warranty would have not done it.our dealer runs slp pipe and can on his dragon!rode this sled last year 1700 miles no problems!
You telling us that the dealer told Polaris that it was piped and had a can? Dumb dealer.
I fully agree, but think you'll be out-o-luck with that fight. It's just too bad. When I started riding I saw so many sleds with an SLP pipe and can that I coulda swore Poos came stock with SLP!

Why did the dealer tell them you had a pipe? When they very well know that polaris doesnt warranting any motors with mods like pipe.

If you can, find out if the first dealer just asked Polaris a general question re SLP pipe or if Polaris knows the VIN on your sled in regard to the breakdown. If another dealer is willing to look the other way re the SLP pipe (and I sure as hell would if it did not contribute to the problem) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure you don't accidentally throw one of the good guys under the bus with Polaris!!!!
Absolutely, I'm just saying there are a lot of good dealers out there that will use their head and common sense and not just tow the company line. Like having a pipe on when it had nothing to do with the situation. I understand that these dealers are sticking their own necks out to watch out for their customers and we need to know when to shut our mouths as well.

Andy, I'm really sorry for the prob with the warranty. But all of us 800 owners need to use our heads and realize once we start adding mods we may/will jeapordize the warranty. If I owned a company that produced something mechanical, I wouldn't warranty my product if the customer added something to it to enhance it's pwr output. That's why on my sled I didn't go with a pipe, open up the air intake, and kept the stock can to go on it if it needs to go into the dealer. We really need to protect ourselfs until polaris gets through these issues. Hopefully that will be soon. I know you're angry, but blaming the dealer about not telling you the warranty may be voided with the pipe, is misplaced. All of us have to know mods effect warranty! Period. I do agree that the dealer probably didn't need to mention to poo it had a pipe, we are too accustom to many dealers covering for us for our mods, but this obviously is changing, so everyone, cover yourself.
