I'd love to see pictures or at least have the owners of the sleds with broken drive shafts submit the built dates of their units.

I can assure you that they a few dudes in the warranty department at corporate headquarters who are charged with determining risk vs cost assessment. They have formulas that will indicate when they need to do a recall or service bulletin or just handle problems on a case by case basis. The decision makers will look at the risk/cost scenario with the shaft issue and also factor in possible impact on market share and then act, or not. It’s business, and if any of us were in charge of satisfying the board and the share holders we would look at it from all sides, like they have to. I’m not defending Polaris in any way, it’s just business.
Well back in the day, so my gramma tells me, keeping your paying customers happy was considered "just business"
In the end we voted for the company that was doing the best job with our wallets.
It is always past tense though with new sleds.
Polaris, best sleds out there, except for the driveshaft...
I know first hand that Polaris does in fact watch these forums. Back in 04 when the 900 first came out and I was still working at the dealer, I recieved a phone call from our friends in the Polaris service department the following morning in regards to some things I posted on these forums the night before.
They are always watching believe you me.
AND DID NOTHING with the 900.....
For all you guys who are worried sick that your sled is going to break out in da mountains. Do you have a grassy area near you right now, like a ditch? Load your sled up, drop it off along side the road, drive it into the ditch, then beat the snot out of it. Don't let it over heat obviuosly, but, you will know real quick if your drive shaft is going to break or not. If it does, walk over to your truck, back the truck over to the sled, have your buddy help yu load it, take it to your dealer and have them fix it. There, now you don't have to worry about being out in the mountains when/if it breaks.
Yes, I am being a smart azz, but holy crap, guys on here getting ulcers because of what they are reading on the forums, with no miles on their sleds? If it happened to you, you have a right to be pissed, if it hasn't, QUIT FREAKING OUT ABOUT IT!!
Not true........They quit building it.
