Polaris driveshaft and track failure tally

I towed a 155" Khaos off the mountain a few weeks ago with a broken driveshaft. He mentioned it had been ratcheting like crazy prior to it snapping the end off. I'm guessing this 3.5" pitch and no antiratchets on clips is the culprit. I believe it's the same pitch as Ski-Doo but they have clipped antiratchets.

Do I remember hearing that the 2.75/ QD2 got a new driveshaft as part of the package? I'm not seeing any 2.6/ QD1 failures on this list... Different driveshaft maybe?

what do yo mean by "clipped antiratchets"?

Most manufacturer's have anti-ratchets on the drivers that drive off of metal clips on the track widows. What people have been doing is putting a big anti-ratchet driver in the mid-section of the polaris track driving off of non-clipped rubber and polyester cords. In a few hundred miles these tracks are toast.

My center driver has been slowly moving to the point where it now rubs the track window.

2x2 piece of wood and dead blow hammer you can center it up again.

Likely you should make your drivers on each side of the center driver tight to the inner or outer limits of the track nubs when the track is centered in the tunnel.

This will keep it from walking.

21 khaos qd2 with the 2.75

My track has been tightened 5 times at 600 miles and finally stopped ratcheting.
I am quite disappointed as it has lost 2-3 paddles or split some.

I don’t get why this thing seems to be falling apart

5 times! Those are rookie numbers!

I'm a little over 600 miles. I check and tighten it before every ride, and by the end (50-70 miles) its ratcheting again.

My track doesn’t really ratchet. I keep it adjusted to spec. But I’ve noticed the wheels are running off the rubber under the rods. Even causing 2 holes on the wheel tracks. Hoping for warranty on this one

Check your tracks and see if they are wearing out. Start a warranty claim if so !

Looks familiar. Wheels are packing snow right into the track. My buddies sled 1100 miles. All to spec
