What are your thoughts on the two sleds pro's & cons? I do most of my riding in Minnesota and I like to go out west a couple of times a year. I was thinking the assault would be better to do both places. I do realize I would be better of with a softer track on the assault out west. I do not know enough about the dragon, I have no idea how it would be on packed trails. I have a 151" blade highlander and enjoy riding it in both places, little hard on hyfax in mn but fun to ride.

Thanks for the input!!!

if you run ice scratchers on either sled in minnesota should be good to go.but ride trails in minnesota sucks never enough snow, have to ride the ditch

I belive the assult has the harder track. May be wrong though.

I would get the Assault if I were you. The assault will be able to handle its own in the mountains for the 2 times you come out west. If you ride more in MN than I would get the sled that more suits you there. Its like the 144 revs, it takes a more aggresive rider to make it go some of the places the longtracks go, but they will get there. On DEEP days you will wish you had a longer track, but its all about having fun. I still like to jump on a shorter lenght sled in the mountains just for the fun factor.

I agree 100%!!!

if your not riding the steep and deep all the time get the assault. either way get the wheel kit on what ever you get if your not in the pow all the time the hyfaxs wear like crazy. and the assault track is the harder of the two. but im pretty sure if you snocheck the assault they give you the 5.1 mountain track too.

the assaults are nice but the track is TERRIBLE in soft snow. Got a buddy with an assault and that thing just trenches everywhere we go. The sled is nice on the harder pack stuff and you cant beat the looks of an assault.

good clutching will fix alot of the trenching issues..you could always get the assault and buy the 141 powerclaw track or the 2.5 camo -x and swap tracks for the mountain trips.....

The assault is great in the spring or in heavy rained on snow and would serve you well out in MN. Get a Camo extreme to swap on when you come out west and you'll do fine the 146 with a soft snow track will get you wherever you need to go. But, the stock track is defiantly not for soft snow!

it really depends i run both of those sleds in minnesota and out west, the assualt comes with a single idler wheel on the rails which inherrantly prevents hifax burning and the stiff track keeps snow in the intercooler but the dragon comes with ice scratchers that you can run, so it really is up to you. If you are out west in deep powder a lot the assualt track seems to trench a lot but if youre in mn on hard packed trails it hooks up a lot better when you take off and stop its all in what you like... hope you figure out something you want, anything you go with you will like :beer;

Ice Scratchers = $60 (don't let it be the deciding factor!!!)

The Assualt sounds like a better sled. It will be funner to run that in MN, it gets around in the mountains fine. It won't put the high mark up but who cares?
