Polaris 3 year warranty scam!

I received my papers from Polaristar a few days ago. On my papers is says under the "Plan selected" box that I have the Polaris Snowmobile Total Protection plan. Also that it expires 8/29/2015. So from my understanding after reading though my papers is that it is the 4 year bumper to bumper. Also looking through them I noticed they will reimburse you for a rental sled if yours breaks down. However its only a max of $20 a day for up to 6 days so it doesn't get you real far but better than nothing.

Hey guys, when I snowchecked my sled I bought it on the premise I was getting a 3 year bumper to bumper warranty as the option I chose. I got my Polaristar warranty info packet today and it says that all I have is a 3 year powertrain warranty. I have one document that lists the option as a 3 year bumper to bumper but all the rest just list it as a 3 year esc and don't tell the details. Does anyone still have all the snowcheck brochures that showed it was a bumper to bumper offer or printed off the original offer on polaris' website? I need proof that that was the offer. My dealer claims all they were aware of was a 3 year esc that did not include the words bumper to bumper but will go to bat if I have documents and proof. They are looking for some left over papers as well. Check your deals guys and gals!

This is the Canadian deal. Does the US deal still say 4 year bumper to bumper?

Just got my paper work package yesterday. Same thing. I was sold a bumper to bumper 3 year extended warranty and I got a powertrain warranty in the mail. WTF?
Polaris has some splainin to do I think.

My paperwork says "Polaris Snowmobile Total Protection". Term months = 48

Total protection is the so called bumper to bumper minus exclusions.

No issues here.

Sounds like another big mess.....glad I mod my sleds and took the $$$$ options.

So the US customers may have gotten what they were supposed to but the Canadian customers might have gotten even further ripped off.

Its bad enough that we were only getting 3 years instead of the 4 years like the US but now they change it to powertrain only after we sign our deals?

I do think what you have is a bumper to bumper, it is just not covered under Polaris. Polaris sells the contracts to the lowest bidder for the extended portion, which is over 12 months. Just like my 09 1yr Polaris and extended covered everything for the next 2 years, actually had no problems they paid for that sled more than once in engine parts!

No, the letter I got is from Polaristar Protection. It is for 3 years from the date I took recipt of my sled at the dealer(no wonder they were shipping em in August, lose half a year before you even ride it...)and is comprehensive coverage plan. "Your Polaristar Protection plan provides comprehensive coverage on the following major components: engine, transmission, drive axle, chain case, seals, and gaskets. Please refer to the agreement for complete details and exclusions." There is a snowmobile section a few pages in that lists the sled specific components and is too long to retype but it basically covers all the powertrain and that's it.

polaris only uses one company to do extended warranties..now the 12s are thru that company..the 11's are thru polaris industries and not thru the warranty company(after the dragon engine issues the warranty company would not do a 4 yr extended...so polaris did it in house..) on the 11's alot of us have been receiving extended offers from the warranty company offering to insure them for up to 4 additional(5 total) yrs for x...$....the 12's go thru polaris for 1st year..thru warranty company for remainder...

It is possible that Polaris will be sending out a supplemental letter for the Bumper to bumper if, indeed, the drivetrain and bumper to bumper warranties are covered by separate companies... I'll try to check into this more.

Regards,
Eric

Dealer here in Canada told me the bumper to bumper doesn't include chassis/tunnel WTF is bumper to bumper then?

actually it does..up to a point..last season several guys reported polaris warranting their tunnels after buckling them...anytime you ever have an issue you think might be warranty..ask the dealer to contact polaris and ask for help..polaris is actually pretty good about stepping up if its not fragrant abuse...or shows signs of mods......I personally have had good treatment from polaris both personally and on customer rigs....

I agree with you but the auto industry does the same thing. Stuff like tires, brake pads and even clutches are often not warrantied even though the warranty reads as "bumper to bumper". Maybe they are referring to "misuse" of the machine that leads to tunnel damage (50' hucks!). Also, racing usually voids warranties.

Is this a 2012 model year or a 2011 from last year?

When bought my 2011 last year....it was $xxx in gear + 2 year powertrain OR 4 year bumper to bumper. Canadian sled.

Those are wear parts, ie like the belt, hifax etc... those are not included in any warranty, unless there is a failure.

Went to my dealer today and have seen that on the Polaris dealer site under the 2012 snowcheck rules it is indeed originally listed as a 3 year bumper to bumper. Also have seen other original documents to support that but was not allowed to take copies for myself as they say private and confidential on the bottom. Either way the dealer also has seen that the deal has indeed changed at some point since the snowcheck ended and that we are not getting what our original contracts state. The dealer is in the process of contacting the regional rep for Polaris and following it up from there. I will post as I find out more.
