I installed a Predator 212cc in my boy's 120 Polaris. Must be a little bigger motor than the old clone but still doable. Had to move the motor forward about an inch to clear the valve cover. Little tweaking on steering arm and she is up and running w/ a straight pipe for now. Very noisy.
Sled runs awesome. Adjusted the throttle until it would rev and start to engage the governor assembly. Right around 4400 rpm according to the mini tach. Sled has way more power than the old 120. Left clutching and gearing alone. Not sure of top speed but I think around 12 mph. Sled easily pulls me up the hill around my house; old motor struggled w/ me on mild slopes. Hills aren't big enough now!!
Does anyone know what I can safely spin this motor at w/out doing damage to the motor or governor assembly? I reached over while riding it and ran it up to 5500 rpm. Anymore speed than what I was able to reach at that rpm is going to require a rear shock.
Let me know what you guys think. I'll see if this video my boy took w/ my phone will load. Little sled engages hard.
