Point of Washing Belts in Dish Washer?

you can just wash them with warm water and mild soap in a pail or sink.
when belts are new they have a greasy or waxy coating on them from factory. its just to remove that. you can run them with it on and many probably do but it could cause some slippage. they still need the same amount of breakin. just one wash is good. depending on how you ride and how long belts last... you could wash every ride if you wanted but no necessary.

Never hear of using a dish washer but I always use hot water and a brillo pad and scrub the contact edges of the belt.

just soap no extra drying temp just pull them out when done ....my GF had a fit when I cleaned my new belts told her to zip it its my washer ..wait till she sees pistons and cyls and stuff in there..
you arnt running the clutches thru as well every 3-500 miles?..I do and I use pots and pans cycle with cascade soap and heated dry..no reason to put wet stuff back on(all kidding a side, since i started washing the clutches I have noticed they stay tighter/quieter for longer then before)...and yeah, I wash lots of stuff in the dishwasher...if you worry about it contaminating it, run another HD cycle afterwards(it gets hot enough to get it spotless clean)...oh and as mentioned..best to do it when the other half is gone shopping, and the kids arnt around..(they will narc you out every time) and dont forget to pull em out before she gets home..other wise she will be throwing them at you when she finds them..(thats not good on clutches).....
Since very little rubber anymore is "natural" rubber, it is now all derived from petroleum (crude oil), and as such to bond properly even the Kevlar and / or spectra fiber is soaked in oil to aid in the manufacturing process. This causes a couple very concerning side effects for the end user. First the oil decreases the tensile strength of the fiber cords. Second is the leaching of this oil out of the cords and onto the gripping surfaces of the belt, which in turn coats the clutch sheaves. By washing this oil out of the cords you will make the belt stronger and slip less which will ultimately make it perform better and last longer. Is it worth the five or ten minutes it takes? You be the judge.

I thought I was the only one. I load up the primary and secondary in the dishwasher anytime I have them off. It works great.
Nothing like a warm bubble bath with rubber ducky and a couple drive belts. 
I have only cleaned a belt when it got oil on it....other than that have not cleaned or broken in a belt and never had a problem...just keep the clutches clean and ride it!

my wife would flip if she ever saw that and im sure she knows im up to something when I've unloaded the dishwasher but she hasn't figured it out yet.
I've never put the whole clutch in though, I am going to be doing more dishes this winter
