If you don't want to pay the $$. Then don't!! Just stop whining about it!!!!!!!!! If you think the site should be free then, by all means , go start your own. It's a business. I thought at least you Americans would understand that!! If you want to read the rest of a thread then buy a membership. If you want to see the rest of the info in that thread, then buy a membership!! Am I going too fast for you? Oh wait. I see. You want people who have bought a membership to allow you not to buy one. This crap about can't afford it or I refuse to be told what to do is getting old. Pry your crusty old wallet open!

Did you even read my post? If you are going to insult me, at least insult the opinions I hold, not those I don't.

'Merica!

Unwad your panties honey! When did I insult you? In a previous post you said you couldn't afford to pay $15 every time you needed to find some info on the web. Good news! you only have to pay once a year!! And you want all basic members to be able to access all the info on Snowest easier? $15 a year gets all the access they will ever need.

My pond is lake Tahoe has been for the past 25 years, funny the stereo type of people from ca.yep i drive a truck not a prius,i love motersports not human powered tricycles and the sierra club can kiss my a$$ .Oh and i don't eat steak every night ha ha i like chicken.Please. Oh and probably just like you when I'm not injured i go to work and fix the 1%"s boats.Cement ? We don't have side walks in our neighborhood, but i can ride my sled or snobike down the street to my favorite trails, that i pay the for thru county, state, fed thru taxes.
I come on snowest for info and entertainment, and this thread is worth my 15 in entertainment value.Happy in Ca.

So you think that in the last couple of hours I should have paid $15 each to view websites with info on motorcycles ×3, mudslides, weather forecasts (three of those, too), traffic, snow depths, and a map?

no thanks.

BTW, who told you I wear panties? Are you looking in my windows?

$15 seems like a fair deal to me, if for nothing else then being able to follow mtn-doo's builds over the past couple years. I learned enough from those builds to save myself far more than the subscription cost by avoiding throwing money away on modifications that weren't likely to work. Great to have members like him making it easy on the rest of us.

I'm still thinking some financials on snowest is going to lend a helluva lot more credibility to this argument than anyone's shallow opinion of how big their sack is by being a "premium member". I dare somebody to do the leg work. Don't forget to include charitable donations as a percentage of net revenue. God forbid we should keep slandering each other without hard data! Or maybe that's the point? Have a pissing match that can never be decided?

$29.95 for 3 years... A while ago there was a link to a service manual I downloaded for free that would've costed $50-$60 from a dealer. Cant count how many times Ive been stuck in the garage and a simple search on here answered my question in about 5min. $10 a year is cheap for this kind of info and if you don't wanna pay you still probably have access to 2/3s of the info on here still. Nothing to bitch about:face-icon-small-dis

Just for the record.

Last time we did a content survey, I think Free Members had access to over 95% of the total content of the forums at no cost to them.

I will have to go look it up, but I think it was something like 4.7% of the posts on the forum are beyond the 100 post mark or in the private member forums.

Quick Check.
For the last 250 threads on SnoWest, Free members had full access to 232 of them or 93% of the threads.
Content access is higher because they still get to read the first 100 posts of the threads that go above 100.

i would like to see some kind of kickback to people who post useful information. i am on many other large forums bigger then this and have less advertising. the have premium memberships to get avatar, more pm's and pic hosting but never have a see one that restricts what you can see. the owners of this site must make an absolute killing $$$$$$$

Kickback? What are you smoking? You expect to get something for posting useful info? Who decides if it's useful? And what business is it of anybody's what the financial status of this website is? If you are a shareholder then you should already know. If not then it's above your pay grade! And you aren't restricted on what you can see. spend $15 and see whatever you want. And pm or post pics until you puke.

Shareholder? When did they go public? If a company does go public they have to spill their guts financially. Weather they are honest are not is up to them. Sounds like your smoking too much and missed that one. Harris publishing inc is what you want to look for. Pretty stand up organization from what I dug up. Ag origination of all things. I don't fault them for financing upgrades on the front end with a membership fee. If it works it looks like it works good if it doesn't the whole forum tanks. This one happened to work. I'm wondering if there is some sort of iq threshold for members that increase the chance of success? Just a casual observation.
