It's funny this just came up two days after I upgraded to a member. It quit letting me see complete threads so I thought nothing of spending a few bucks on a site that has made getting into this sport a lot easier. Without this forum I'd probably still be trying to figure out how to keep snow out of my intake lol.

I would purchase a sub if each category had a decent moderator. It is annoying to be new looking for answers, only to receive "We've been over this, try searching!"

The search function on this forum is TERRIBLE, and there needs to be a moderator on this subforum to compile builds, airbox mods, etc in an easily accessible location (like stickies)

I avoid social issues like this,... but I just couldn't hold back any longer! $15 will buy a pizza. That is gone in an hour. A membership allows unlimited access to everything for 365 of those days. The entire year! We all blow $15 bucks on "stuff". This is the most informative and comprehensive resource for snowmobiles & snowbikes world wide period. A magazine subscription costs that much and you can't ask questions and evolve and grow together as a community. I think the selfish people only want free answers to every question they come up with. This is designed to be "interactive". We as a community need to also "contribute" and grow together. Not just take from.... I would pay $50 a year to have the collective knowledge and support of the "whole" community. Okay, I'm done now... lol... :)

Good post...The hatred for Snowest runs deep with some members. I received a much appreciated thumbs down for even suggesting purchasing a membership is a good idea...I wonder why the haters even hang around. Nevermind :light:

No political science majors.....or for that matter any one that pays attention to politics? Your $15 is a tax plain and simple. Taxes in general hinder expansion of business unless the excess tax money is used to improve business. Question is what has snowest done with this excess money? Line their pockets, fight for land rights, pay r&d, promote safety legislation or is it a secret? Nobody has a leg to stand on until financials are published. Post it up boys. I'm just a polite bystander.

:thumb: I like your thinking well said.
Who needs an other tax unless you can see that it benefits the sport.

So whats wrong with 15 a year.look at how much people pay to cross some bridge every day on there way to work.please stop the whining . Oh i forgot America is turning into a bunch of fn whiners as it is.If you can afford a sled used or new,or a dirt bike and a days worth of fuel, you can afford 15 for 365 of info that helps most of us. rant over.
Have a nice day .oh 1 more .would you like some wine with your cheeees sir :face-icon-small-hap

It's not like anyone is holding a gun to your head to pay .

Than there's those that claim to not get involved in social issues , for you it' is a tax right off since your peddling the product , some of us must be to stupid to figure that one out I guess ?

Than there's a comment from California from the cement pond , I'm guessing you guys probably have to pay to take a dump than theirs a disposal fee for the a$$ wipe .

It's simple , there is no peace when it comes to greed .

The one ski sport doesn't need any help being monopolized .

Comments coming from a dumb a$$ :face-icon-small-hap

$29.95 for 3 years... A while ago there was a link to a service manual I downloaded for free that would've costed $50-$60 from a dealer. Cant count how many times Ive been stuck in the garage and a simple search on here answered my question in about 5min. $10 a year is cheap for this kind of info and if you don't wanna pay you still probably have access to 2/3s of the info on here still. Nothing to bitch about:face-icon-small-dis

Loads of you have mentioned how cheap subscribing is. This isn't about the cost to me- it is about access to information for everybody, easily.

Snow sports have been no small expense for me. I've purchased four sleds and three motorcycles in recent years. I pay about 40%tax and consider the $200 I pay in forest passes, grooming, etc simple harassment. Should snowest be profitible? Sure - but in a way that is easy for anyone to access the information, in my view.

I don't benefit from the snowest articles- I am not a flat lander. I benefit from the experience of other people like you and I. Simply for the amusement of my fellow enthusiasts, I will send $15 to two prolific single ski posters - one for each year I've had a snow bike.

Who should get the $$$$$$$? Let's make this fun.

If you don't want to pay the $$. Then don't!! Just stop whining about it!!!!!!!!! If you think the site should be free then, by all means , go start your own. It's a business. I thought at least you Americans would understand that!! If you want to read the rest of a thread then buy a membership. If you want to see the rest of the info in that thread, then buy a membership!! Am I going too fast for you? Oh wait. I see. You want people who have bought a membership to allow you not to buy one. This crap about can't afford it or I refuse to be told what to do is getting old. Pry your crusty old wallet open!
