Thought maybe we can start a thread of places that rebuild shocks. Please include what shocks you know they rebuild, aprox. Cost and your experience with them.

How good of a job did they do? What was the turn-around like? Would you go back to them?

Thanks!

Not sure about CO, but I am sending my stockers to Zbroz Racing in Logan UT. They specialize in EXIT shocks but can also do prob about any other kind of shock out there. Getting all 4 of mine re-valved with triple rate springs up front. '09 Summit Hillclimb shocks. Give em a call for pricing, I'm sure they can get you set up.

In Colorado would be nice (just to keep it local) but I am thinking more of a Master list of companies that do this and experiences with them.

Do you know what they charge for a revalve? I assume that includes a rebuild?

I sent a shock in and had it back in less than 3 days. And very nice people to deal with.
I bent a shock 7 days before a trip, I asked them if they could get it back ASAP. They said no problem, and I can't remeber the cost but I was shocked on how cheap it was(first shock I have ever had rebuilt). Rebuilt it, and replaced shaft. Saved me from buying a new shock to make my trip.

In Colorado try Tri city cycles out by the Budweiser events center off cross roads in Loveland. GO talk to Adam in service he built a set of my shocks and did a great job and very reasonable as well. Cost me a case of Coors Light.

That would be awesome if he could do the WE's for me. I drive past that place multiple times a week. Although they don't deal with sleds much, so that is a bit concerning.

Toms snowmobile. www.shoptomssnowmobile.com They know Fox shocks in and out. I sent them my zbroz shock and had it fixed and shipped back within 7 days. ZBroz are awesome shocks, but I broke a fitting for the Braided line that conects to the resevoir. By far the toughest shocks.

I stole this from another thread:

Call up Max at Tri City Polaris ... He has a handle on these superb shocks probably better than anyone.

The rear should be taken care of a bit as well. He'll know just what to do and has a stellar reputation for getting these things done.

I just gave them a call. Max was not in but another tech named Derrick told me that they used to do that but they started having problems with bleeding, etc so now any shocks they get they now send to Randy at Walker Evans. 1-888-933-7223

I also talked to Carl's Cycles and they have a couple of options. To get the fronts rebuilt and revalved to your style and weight is about $220. For $80 they put a FOX piston in it. They say the new piston helps quite a bit but the stock ($220) works well as well. They said you can do all four but the front is really where the issue is.

FREDDY @DIAMOND SHOCKS

Another stolen link:

I sent my buddy's one shock for a simple rebuild and to replace the shaft that was pitted to Freddy @ DIAMOND SHOX last year:

After 4+ months of repeated phone calls, e-mails and hearing excuses from :

1) U.P.S. lost it (but no shipping # to verify),

2) I'm waiting on back-ordered parts

3) My dog ate my homework, etc,

My buddy finally got his shock back after over 4 months.

There's an entire thread on www.hardcoresledder.com in the IQ section of similar dealings

Hopefully this will help prevent others from going through an unnecessary exercise in futility.

Freddy's prices are really good, I was considering him because of that, and those that had them done there are happy.

I am going to call or stop by Tri-City cycles and see what they have to say. If not I am leaning towards Carl's.

..........don't forget Holz Racing up in Washington. Great company and suspension experts.

just sent my rear skid shocks to GSR andy youngstrom, and he got them today and said that he will be sending them back tomorrow. he was revalving and adding the burandt shock upgrade, price will be around 200. great guy to deal with.

Correct on a great suspension company, I wasn't aware they did re-valves. Do they do stuff for anyone or just revalves on their company?

BTW...

I think I will avoid this place altogether. I have sent them two e-mail and made two phone calls with no response. If they can't reply to a potential customer then they don't deserve (my) business.

I have dealt with Andy at GSR for the last 10 Years and he can fix or do anything that has to do with a shock, he has seem them all.
He has built me no less that a 100 shocks and absolutely no failures, just tell him what your after as far as ride and performance and he can do the rest, he has over 25 years of experience and can rebuild or repair any brand.
He has done all my shocks and I can recommend him for anything to do with shocks.
Great Guy, reasonable and honest. GSR 208-716-0475
