I know what your going to say i'm in the wrong area,
But there is a logic to my madness lol seems to have more ppl here there for more information

i recently blow up my 2001 thundercat stock motor, and was running weicso pistions,
i was wondering if i should go back to OEM Cat pistons or try out the SPI teflon pistons or go back to weisco? or is there any other that i forgot to mention?

In the past I ran a Cat 1000 cc triple. Loved the engine!! I did have better luck with longevity running OE (Cat) pistons versus others.

We've had very good luck with SPI pistons in many motors. The OEM cat pistons are also good.

Unless you're highly modified, I see no benefit to forged pistons, and there are drawbacks.

I used to run the 1000 triple as well. I put a set of wiseco pistons in it and they didn't last long. I think they were more prone to cold seizures and just generally more temperamental, with my limited tuning knowledge. I personally had better luck with the OEM pistons.
