Pirate Battle

Actually I read that American, British and French military ships have all agreed to act if any of the ships being hijacked are American, British or French. Let's hope that is the case. These pussies hijack ships all while military ships watch.

I was very surprised to find out that this ship was not armed as well. I would have turret guns mounted and enforce a security detail. I'd bring Chuck Norris.

Or Steven Segal as a cook. :)

The navy has been told to back off.
Seems the shipping company is going to pay up.
What a joke.

And thats exactly why this BS keeps happening.
There should be no negotiations, nothing a couple of f-15s couldnt end in 15 minutes.

Send in the Navy Seals and it would all be over in an hour.

X2 ... Special Ops would make short work of them "Skinny" bastiges! The year is 2009 and we are dealing with pirates in international waters??? It's sadly ironic  I guess they know that under the current "Obama-nation" administration, they have less to fear than when Slick Willy was in office!

since when did yhe US start negotiating with terrorists? is that not what they are?
our new prez needs to step up, send the seals on a "swim" and finish this! our ships will be fair game from this day on. up till now they KNEW they better not touch an american ship. its all changed now.......oh, theres that word again CHANGE

"high seas caused the life raft to capsize, we couldnt find any survivors"

It'd be nice to spare the American Captain of the Maersk Alabama ... he sacked up and offered himself as hostage to insure the safety of his crew, if reports are accurate. Best case scenario ... Richard Phillips freed after ALL Somali pirates "dispatched"! Tough situation to assault a covered survival lifeboat adrift without taking the hostage out in the crossfire.

Our military leaders need to grow some ball take charge and lead our Military the way should be led. Forget asking for permission just ask for forgiveness after the fact.

Navy vessel with guided missiles against a half dozen phocks in a zodiac. WTF

First thing the Gov did was to send in a FBI negotiator? Who the hell is running chit around here? :face-icon-small-con

If that was my dad, brother, uncle, friend, etc.. I would hope to hell they could find a way to get him out alive. I kind of doubt the family is sitting in their living room wishing they'd just drop a round on the dinghy and call it good.

Bottom line is, this could have been prevented. Give these guys something to think about and start sinking their *** before they have a chance to do it in the first place. I realize that arming those ships is risky, but being forced to defend yourself with barb wire, water hose, etc... against RPG's, AK47's, etc... just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. This is a good example of what gun laws do, it's illegal to be armed in that neck of the woods (water), so the law abiding people are forced to remain defense-less while the combatents run around fully armed taking millions of $$ from our insurance companies and putting Americans' lives at risk.

Send the seals over. Capsize the boat. The Ship captain has already dimonstrated his ability to swim. I am willing to bet the pirates won't be able to swim with a navy seal pullin his azz down.
