Pipe to can connection seal

So i got my new sled this year a 08 d7 and I put a has can on it. I really like the can I think it's a little more snappier, it's not to loud plus it's lighter. I noticed that where these two connect ( after the springs are installed ) it is not a tight fit and some exhaust is escaping here. I'm sure this is costing me some power loss, but I want to seal this up. The only thing I know of is using black rtv silicone to seal this up... Is this the best thing to use, or what other options do I have?

When it gets hot will it get sticky and make it hard to get the pipe apart from the can?

You can bend the those piece's where you put your springs a little this will give you some more tention on the springs to hold it together better.... Still use the black high temp silicone onthe joint...

Those springs should be tighter than f*#k and very hard to stretch on. You might want to get new springs. As said earlier ultra black. It has never leaked on me.

This is superior to the ultra black it has higher temperature resistance. I use it on my Y pipe gaskets as well and have never had any issues. permatex makes some great products. I have seen this product used on turbo aplications where no gaskets were readily available with no leaks
