Photos from a rode ride with my wife up near Togwotee today 11/18 on the Flagstaff Road which is just about a mile east of the lodge. The road riding conditions were more then I hoped for. Not sure what I was not clear on in my earlier question asking if road riding in the area was doable  Anyway... For what it's worth, I would say there was plenty of snow for a rode ride. Even got off the trail in a few areas.

Thanks Dude

Wow that looks decent!!! We're headed out the first of Dec. and I was wondering if there's any snow? Thanks for calming my nerves...

Hey snowfreakmn. Well like I said we had enough snow for road riding, but you would be taking a big chance with any significant off road riding. On top of that the road we were on (Flagstaff Road) was on a nice northerly slope so the sun had not melted what snow there was. Other roads with southern aspects did not look so lucky. There was about a 10 mile stretch of the road that was in real good shape, after that as it headed lower in elevation and changed exposure we turned around. Sounds like a couple storms this weekend then high pressure for later Thanksgiving week. Soooo first week of December might be marginal depending on how much snow we get this weekend and how warm it gets with the high pressure next week. Could be a sort of canceling effect, some snow and some high pressure. Good luck...

Dude, I hear ya... It's always a crap shoot the first week of Dec. some years it's been good some not so good, but I CAN"T WAIT ANY LONGER... lol
I also noticed the black gas can on your sled "nice" where do you get those?
Thanks...

Good deal. Just didn't want your expectations to be too high for good conditions.

Got that gas can from trailtank.net Real high grade piece. I was tired of the POS oem tank from Polaris. Vent cap would start to crack after every few rides. This tank does not have the vent cap. Less to break. Real thick plastic too.

hey snowfreak...don't worry, there will be something to ride, but it is early season so the base is a little thin. i was up there week or so ago two days in a row. we rode off the summit of the pass at the base of 2 ocean mountain and the pow was deep. you just need to get up as high as you can, the stuff by the lodge doesn't have the coverage yet. we ran into 2 guys from WI, and they were psyched on the conditions..they said their friends at home told them there would be no snow..guess they had the last laugh.

ct thanks for the info. We've been thinking about trying the snowies also, it sounds like there is more snow? Who knows we still have a week till we leave, so I guess jump in the truck and see where we end up... Togwotee is my fav tho!
