Photo / report from 11/11 ride in Mill Hollow area...

Good news / bad news is the Mill Hollow road had been plowed by some yahoo all the way up to the reservoir... So the good news was we were able to park at the ranger station about half way up. The bad news was from there the new 4 or 5 inches on top of the previously plowed road left it a bit scratchy, but doable. The riding up top and to the east was a lot better then we thought it would be. About 1.5’ to 2’ feet in most areas. Much better base then I thought there would be. We were off trail most of the day and didn’t have any damage out of the 6 of us. I'm not saying you didn’t had to watch it and be careful, but it was pretty much a carving fest all day long. This photo was from the very top ridge and had the least amount of snow as it’s pretty exposed to wind and sun. To the east of the ridge in the trees and meadows was a lot deeper. So there ya go...

OOOOHHHHHH Sh!t... Is that why you ditched that SLOW P.O.S.! and picked up a real sled?

LMAO! how many miles does Newmeyer have on that 1000 now? I remember breaking in our 03 1M 900s with him up there! Some things never change!

I can tell you Rick has about 60 miles on it now. I've been out with him on his first 2 rides now.

This was the first ride on the XP for Mr. Happy... or at least he was Mr. Happy until his sled suddenly got twice as loud. We found 4 or 5 of his Y pipe bolts had fallen out. Fortunately I had one of those magnet wands (not magic) and we were able to fish them out from under the engine. Gee, do you think Ski Doo could have made it any harder to get to the engine and work on it in the field! What the hell. I guess pretty soon sleds will be like most new foreign cars, where it's hard to even find the engine, let alone work on it. His old edge sure was a lot easier to work on out in the field... come to think of it I don't think we ever had to work on his edge or my old edge in the field. Interesting. Anyway, aside from the Y pipe bolt incident he really seems to like the XP a lot!

Hope the conditions report helped...

:rolleyes:

It almost funny to think that a company worth billions still cant keep those little bolts in place

Loctite those bad boys and you wont have to worry about it again.:beer;

Real Sled? More like a real engine/turbo kit inside a bathtub chassis....all this thing needs is some trailing arms and we go straight back to 1994:cool:

Who makes the vent kit on that dudes XP? is that from that company at the snow show?

order the vents i told you about dufas!....damn when will these kids learn to listen to grown folks:face-icon-small-hap

vents infront and back will work best, side vent will work but not as good....

The y-pipe is no big deal.. The best fix is blue locktite (so you can remove the bolts if needed) and nord-lock washers..

blue loctite is great for chap stick and licking stamps, use the red stuff and be done with....use a simple propane torch to heat the bolt/loctite up to remove

Good thoughts on the Y pipe bolts. I'm sure my bud will put them back in right. Thanks for all the thoughts...
