All Hendrick cars pitted the same time, but only the 48 and 25 had fuel to the end. The 24 was going to run out with 7 to go. Not sure on Jr. Hmmmmm. Ok Roush guys chime in on this one.

Double edge sword for sure.

But..... Would have made for an actual "race".

I don't see how there is any double edge to it. There was no debris, so no caution. How many of you last year kept complaining about debris that you couldn't see just so they could bunch the field? I will answer that for you. Every week there was at least 1 post on here about phantom debris......:rolleyes:

Should have been a debris caution at 30 to go.

Absolutely not!
I hate it when it comes down to fuel mileage, but I hate it worse when the devine intervention of NASCAR takes place!
I cannot stand Johnson or Knaus, but they made the right call.

Phantom cautions are the BIGGEST problem with NASCAR's credibility.

Allright then..... I will replace my previous statement with...... I wish there would have been a downpour with about 30 to go, a downpour that would last only 1 minute and delay the race 30 minutes.

All I'm saying is that it WAS shaping up to be a good race, from start to finish, then came the fuel mileage part and then it turned in to a "who can go the farthest on a couple shots of Sunoco".

As far as the double edged sword, HAD they thrown the flag then there would have been 50% pissed off and 50% happy. I'm not a fan of the debris cautions and if one would have came out I would have hoped to have found some actual debris.

I'll take Jr. at Dega. Or Stewart.

Lighten up Francis:beer;:beer;

The way it played out COULD HAVE been great.
IF the 48 car runs out with 3 to go......:D
I hate 'em, but that call to stay out took balls.

Holy crap! Like it or not, fuel mileage is a part of racing. I am not a 48 fan either but the man won the race fair and square. He and Bowyer's teams were the only ones with the stones to try and stretch the fuel mileage. Just because the rest of the field didn't make the same decision doesn't make the race any worse. It could have easily blew up in their face and they could have finished a couple of laps down after running out of fuel. By the way, JJ was on a tear the last 20 or so laps. He might have won either way. Throw a caution and bunch up the field and he is right back in the thick of things.

"I hate 'em, but that call to stay out took balls."

Yes it did. Plus, it was fun to watch Knaus talk him into slowing down and how much he had on 2nd place. It'll be funny when they sit down and watch the replay...
