People who upgraded chassis input

The edge still works for me but i have a 1200 in it. i have not spent any real time on the newer stuff so i probably do not know what i'm missing.

i went from an '02 edge, 19/43 geared, piped, clutching, intake, cheater head, timbersled suspension, random other stuff, and i went to a '10 AC M8 HCR and its amazing, more power handles better, and reliable to boot, i dont worry about jetting, mixing race gas, or if i will be towed back to the truck. i love it. on the flip side i could be more reckless on the edge because i cared less about how pretty it was

I just love my Edge..I had it since it was new and had a 02 before that again..
This winter i belive is gonna be my last with the Edge as my primary sled, next summer i will buy a new sled.If it`s gonna be a 2010/2011 M8 Snopro or a Pro Rmk i dont know.
But my Edge is free for me to own now(exept for all the tuning and modifications) so i`m definitive not going to sell my old Escape :)

I had about the same sled. Im glad im on a newer one now. I can do things on the new one that i fought on the old one.

Larry owns stock in Edge parts though so i think hes bias....:face-icon-small-win

I have an 02 edge. I have only ridden the newer sleds a few times. The difference is unreal. Everything takes less effort with them. I think the only advantages to my edge is its paid for, still runs great, and I know it. It might not make the highest mark but I have a blast ridding it no matter if I riding down the trail or in 4' of powder. That being said if I rode more than a handful of times in the past 3 years I would be getting a new one.

It's all personal preference. I have ridden the new Assault, and an '08 XP, and can't wait to get back on my edge. It just rides better. I can't think of anything the newer grasshopper-look sleds do better for me.

I started out on a 05 edge in late '04. Rode it hard as my primary sled for over 4 years. I can ALMOST do everything on the edge that I can on an IQ or M chassis, but it's a lot harder on my body at the end of the day. You really have to muscle and throw the edge chassis around compared to an IQ or M. With similar mods the edge was a strong machine, but it really needs a powerclaw or similar track underneith it to keep up with a Dragon or M8 on the hill or in deep pow. On flats my edge pulled away from my Dragon every time and about even with my '10 M8. I still have a special place in my heart for the edge chassis, but once you ride and are comfortable on a newer chassis, you will never want to go back. My back and knees thank me every day since I got onto a newer chassis.

Rode the Edge chassis and 2 Pro-X's and they were great back then. Upgraded to an '08 600RMK 144" and I wouldn't want to go back to the Edge. I'm able to ride harder and faster in the powder and through the trees plus the newer stuff stays more level on the snow.

The answer sure seems pretty simple after reading this thread. I don't think anyone said they like their edge more than their IQ. Can't really go backwards in technology though...

Yesterday I was the only edge with 5 dragons, they all said it looks like I am hanging off the sled when I am boondocking, lmao. It didn't seem as the guys had to put as much into it on the dragon. But, only 1 guy in the group could go shot for shot with me, but my body is feeling it today. 1 thing I have noticed, my trailing arms can handle way more abuse than an a-arm set-up. As most people have stated, I love my edge because it's payed off and all it needs is oil and gas!

I really like my edge sleds, that being said I try not to ride any newer machines because I will want to upgrade :face-icon-small-win

I really enjoyed riding my 02 edge RMK when it was my primary sled, but after upgrading to the IQ I just dread getting back on the 'low-rider'.... it was a great sled for it's day, but for now mine just sits.... I rode it twice last year and almost hated it to be honest... it's hard to go backwards in power and comfort. I don't feel near as beat up at the end of the day riding my 900 as I did riding my EDGE.
