The 1,400-page cap-and-trade legislation pushed through by House Democrats contains a new federal policy that residential, commercial, and government buildings be retrofitted to increase energy efficiency, leaving it up to the states to figure out exactly how to do that. This means that homeowners, for example, could be required to retrofit their homes to meet federal “green” guidelines in order to sell their homes, if the cap-and-trade bill becomes law.

How about the 341 pages that were added to the bill at 3:00 am, the morning before the vote. Now tell us, how the hell could all of the idiot congressmen that voted for that bill, have any clue what was in it. They voted for a bill they never read, or understood. Congress needs to be replaced.

Apparently written in the bill: A federal agency comes in and inspects your house to make sure it's energy efficient and gives you a rating. If it doesn't conform, you have to make it conform before you can sell. They'll look at windows, doors, appliances, hot water heater and insulation and give a rating. They'll federalizes building codes. Codes will have to conform to the Federal Gvt. Water rationing is in the bill.

Even house members that voted for this BS are starting to complain that they didn't know some of the stuff in it. Guess they should have read it first.

The dems in the senate are SO skiddish about this bill that Reid is trying to push for a fast vote and the rest of the party wants to push it off till at least sept. They want to push the medical reform first. They say it is so they can consentrate on universal health care because it is more important, insiders are saying it is because they want to wait a bit and get a feel for the political fall out.
