Peak track, makes the sled hotter?

Well. That could be possible, I will pull the head today and replace the gaskets also.

You may want to pull your pump cover and check the impeller. Maybe some material went through it after the top end rebuild.

Daltech may have hit the nail on the head. When you pull the head, you should be able to see tracks on the head or cylinder where it has been leaking.

check the guage and the sending unit, very well could be a gasket leak though

Heating problems

Low rpms no problems, under boost over 6000 high heat problems , check your fuel octane ? If running 91/92 go 50/50 av ? Det problem ? Another idea, an old load of fuel with the lites out of if could cause heat from low oct ?

Heating problems

Is there any rolling resistances such as track, bearings ? Check clutches ? Rollers Something is creating load ? Air restriction to turbo ? Routing problem on coolant lines? Seems like some of these problems might show up at different RPM levels 5000/6000/7000 ect if you can hold long enough to check ! Also try using a heat gun with laser lite ! Good luck ,

Thanks for all the tips and help guys. Will need to wait until tomorrow, to see if todays work helped.

I also removed the thermostat again, took a shim and drilled a bigger hole in it, put the thermostat gasket on it, and mounted again. Checked the thermostat in warm water. Opened fully.

Just got home from the work shop. Opened the pump cover and took of the impeller, looks good, no damage to it at all.

Opened up the head and looked. Couldnt see any leaks or signs of it. Replaced with new gaskets/o-rings.

Replaced the temperature sensor tonight, to see if it was giving me a false signal.

Gauge? What could be wrong with that?

Ran all last season with straight 91. Now im running 50/50 with 91 and avgas. No detonation problem. Gas is fresh.

Track is loose, running anti rachet drivers. Clutches are good, rollers are good.
Have a vent kit for the turbo itself, and I got cold aur intake to the turbo. Nothing different from last year, when it was cooling fine.
Not really on different rpm, just when it's under load.
Thanks.

Did you remove the flywheel for rebuild? I have witnessed sheared and missing keys. May need to check timing.
Injector change and/or reflash?
We need a scratch head icon.

Didnt remove flywheel, or changed the injectors. I was out with the injectors, but mounted them with new gasket and o-rings also. No reflash.

Oh yes we do ;)

The coolant bottle neck top is notorious of being distorted by impropper pressure cap installation. With a known good/new cap in place, use a pressure gauge with a small hand pump to pressurize the bottle through the bottle vent port. You should be able to pressurize the bottle up to the release pressure. If you can't raise pressure the bottle is bad and needs to be replaced.

Peak track

I've been watching this thread with curiosity and did comment once. Obviously it is hard to diagnose a problem without being there but I did have a peak track and at times it ran hot. Sometimes it didn't as much but generally hotter than stock track. When I put stock back on it for sure ran cooler. I could run in some conditions with peak on groomed trail to our destination with scratchers down with say a few inches of fresh and still run hot. Maybe this isn't your problem and I am not saying it is. Hope you find something else that is easier since you like the peak track. Good luck and be safe

I have changed it three times, but will try this test.

No problem seeing it running some hotter in the trails, but when playing in 2feet of fresh snow. The track cant be the only reason it runs this hot.

Well. Just got home from a short 40min trip. Whatever the problem was, it's now cured. No sudden spikes of temperature, it's running around 130-150f on the trails, and when playing in untouched snow it's running below 130f.

I see that the temperature is a little low sometimes actually, so I need to mount the thermostat again, so it's not letting through too much coolant.

Don't really know what to blame this problem on, but it had something to do with either the thermostat, or top end gaskets.

Thanks for all the help, ride safe.

Here's a video of the short trip today. Enjoy.

Nice ride! It may have trouble cooling with only the last 4 inches of track on the snow *L*
