PAYPAL, why does it take a week for payment to clear these days?

I have been noticing that paypal transactions are not fast like they used to be. Why is that? It used to be I would hit paynow, and it was paid for, now you hit paynow, and it says payment is expected to clear on the, (insert date) Normally takes about a week. Any one else notice this? Why is it like this? It sucks because you cant get anything fast these days anymore..

Exactly, check your profile and see if it got changed to e-check. They have to wait for it to clear in the bank.

I use paypal daily and my payments are withdrawn from my bank account on the same day. Like what others said, are you using e-check?

I got an email from Paypal(eBay) that they are changing their policy so that when receiving payment from goods sold, there is a 7 day hold on your money. I don't know if it is also affecting the buyers as well, but.....one more change eBay is making to ruin the eBay experience. I used to sell a lot of stuff on eBay, its just not worth it anymore.

In he last few days I have had one say it was an e-check, but the other one I did said it was wired over to him? It used to come out of my account on the same day too, not now though. I did have a credit card back up, but took it off when out computor was for of virises and crap. I'll check my account, see what it says.

There is a hold being put on the money from the seller side, after you get paid. But if you get positive feedback or they confirm shipment, it is released. They confirm shipment if you ship via USPS, UPS, or FedEx I believe.

Yeah but I'm not going to give postivie feed back till I get my stuff though. And it's doing this if I go through ebay, or through snowest, what ever I want, it takes a week, or more.

Same here. Had a few customers get mad at me because I held their order until their echecks cleared.

Unless things have changed recently... If the account is backed by a credit card it goes through real quick but if it's set up with just a checking account then it takes days to clear just like any normal transaction where a personal check is involved.

I have yet to have any issues with Ebay or Paypal. In fact I just sent money for parts to a forum member not but 5 minutes ago. No problems as of yet.

re-read what I posted above.... the hold is on money on the sellers side... if they ship your goods... and you leave positive feedback.... their funds should get released... thereby no delay on your part...

Where are you getting this from?

Just sold something today and funds were available instantly

Seems like the seller receives the funds instantly, but it always takes a few days to withdraw from my bank account.

Well I finaly got around to checking my paypal account, and it says that my lasy payment, (ecpected to clear on the 28) Is being sent as an e check. How do I change that? I can't find any place where it gives me the option?

Go to "Profile" and then under "Credit / Debit cards" make sure you have yours listed. If all you have is bank account as the only link to funds for Paypal it will take time to clear!

I have a pypal account that is used just for paypal. As long as I keep money in there I can buy and sell as I wish.
