Pay to ride....

I have been hesitant to start this thread but 2 recent PMs convinced me it might not be such a bad idea after all...
Most of you know that I am a female, and some might know that I run a small tour company. I would like to offer to teach/guide whoever is willing to learn/pay. I love to ride, I love to be out there, it doesn't matter wheather i's trail riding or being stuck in 4 ft of snow, I like it all, and I have the time to teach. By no means I am a pro, but I can confidently say that I can take care of myself and 1-2 others as well.
I know there might be some ladies, wifes or just visitors to the State who want to learn to ride, or just have a day to spare. I singled out women in previous sentense because I think that they might be more hesitant to ride with guys, learn from husbands/boyfriends or not feel comfortable to ride with us because they might think that they would slow us down, that they would not fit or whatever.... So if they know they will pay for the trip, they might feel better about getting stuck, being slow, wanting to go home when they feel like going home etc.... So if anyone is interested, please send me a PM or you can contact me via my website www.4seasonsalaskaadventure.com.
So, this is just a thought. Of course there is also Anchorage Snowmobile Club with many helpful people as well.

Excellent idea, Dash! I know there are ladies who will want the services you offer. :)

Do you have sleds for them to ride or do they need to find their own?

Right now we would have to rent them but if I see enough people interested, I will need to buy one. I think it would be better to rent them anyway, this way they can decide what they would prefer to ride (various lenght tracks, engine size, el. start or not). Or they can have their own or friend's or husband's sleds.... preferably in good working condition. But I will NOT take a small older lady on 1000cc long track for her first ride.

Shwee, thanks for your encouragement, I am actually looking forward to do this!:face-icon-small-hap

I dont know, call me old school ... I get tired of the idea that a woman cant learn from her hubby or boy friend ... Give us a chance, we are more patient than you give us credit for and would love to have you learn the sport we enjoy so much and would be thrilled to share it with you.

No offense to your business, just tired of the stereotype.

No doubt women can learn from a boyfriend or husband. I've learned quite a bit from my bf. However, I think that learning how to ride from another woman can be a great confidence booster and sometimes not quite as stressful as riding with your significant other. First time I ever rode with a group of women was up here and it was awesome. Low key and lots of fun. It was inspiring to me to see all these sledchicks that share my passion out there rippin it up together. I look up to these ladies not only because they are fantastic riders but because they've been in the rookie spot and love helping other women get passionate about sledding.
Thank you ladies you are truly a blessing in my life!

You are absolutely right! I learned from guys, and I still have lots of learning to do myself. I enjoy being around men and riding with them as well, and of course trying to keep up, and making a wise decission not to keep up at some point, hahaha.
But there might be people (not only women) out there who don't know anybody who rides.... There are women whos' husbands don't ride and there is NO WAY that he'd let them spend a day with a strange man in a middle of nowhere....That's all....

Nikolai, you crack me up!:D

Dash, that's a great idea! My girlfriend was a bit intimidated when she went with me last year, ( I don't think she knew that I have quite a bit of patience, and don't mind digging her out )

I have some relatives coming up for the holidays, if they are interested, I'll send them your way!
