PAR 910's How are they running?

Hey loud,

Are you just being a good guy asking for the price of the other 910 for sale on the other thread. That way you can take it of the market so no one else has to worry with a "dead issue". You can't be to worried about the motor if you are even thinking about buying another one.

I met with brad today and ordered my motor, after taking with him I feel pretty confident that he has a very nice product and is doing everything he can to get the engines tuned so they can be enjoyed by those of us that have bought them.

I really think this motor is going rip, with every project you have bugs but between par,CPI, and Cody (vipec) I think they will have this motor tuned and running strong in no time. And will just continue to perfect it. Like Cody said in his post they are perfectionist. And you can tell brad is not out to bend people over. I believe he takes pride in his products and is wanting it running with any flaws.

Lets see how things unfold with the engines and then make judgment on it! I don't think any of the motors will be babied, sounds like the people that have bought them are going to put them to the test.
 
LH- have you called brad and asked him about your rods? it didn't sound like it? call him and get his reasoning for running those rods and if your still not satisfied I'm sure he would work something out with you. It's not a good business practice to come on here and bash him without even talking to the guy either. This forum is for constructive ideas, problem solving, learning new info etc.... If you have a problem call the guy directly and hash it out. 95% of the time a good business will do whatever to make a satisfied customer wether that customer is right or wrong. It takes 10 good customers to make up for one bad one so at least in my business if there is a issue I deal with it and make sure they are happy/satisfied etc.
 
so are dan's rods billet or are they from china? LH, you said you were sending your crank off to dan to have the rods swapped out, what's difference between the two set of rods? are dan's that much better? or is it just a matter of spite over the whole rod issue?

Yes, I did request a price from the guy, who is trying to sell a brand new un-installed PAR 910. If the price is right I will consider buying it. I will send the crank out to be redone if it has the Kingrods on it. I have no bone with the rest of Brad's stuff (his CNC billet stuff is second to none, hence Indy Dan inquiring about them building parts for him, which did not work out as expected). I just don't like being lied to (I get plenty of that from my Ex-wife) and his misrepresenting products as American made when they are not. I have no doubt that with the people he knows they can hammer out any flaws and have a viable engine before next winter. But right now he is walking the line of PSI and we all know that Bruce K. was good at marketing but never could deliver and is out of business as a result. I don't want PAR or Brad that fate but he really should learn to prove the product before throwing it on the market. If I see the value in the price that comes back I may well buy it, but that is my decision.

Carls 900 is running turn key tuned in ready to go from the get go!
Many many miles gas oil throttle.
I'm sorry but if I bought a motor like this and it wasnt tuned and running correctly and it's now last week of Jan. wouldnt be bery happy. This kind of thing should be done before promising anything or giving delivery.
Carls ran there 900 for a whole season before releasing the first one to the public to make sure everything worked right, tuned right, reliable.
Always know when you get something from Carls the combo will be dialed in from start to finish, at least everything I've ever gotten and anyone I know who's used them. I feel for you guys ruining your rides and tuning constantly and hope you get it figured out soon. The season is to short to waste tuning.

I apologize and yes you are correct, but they do have the abillaty to do so by changing the factory ecm programing. Alot like the vi pec. carls is the only company that i know of that can swing this. Thanks for calling me out:face-icon-small-hap
 
I've built two PAR Long rod motors, both are on the snow and absolutely ripping. There's plenty documentation of that online. The fit and finish of the crankwork and rods was second to none. One is a ice race motor spinning 8500 with twins and 14:5 comp, the other a '13 RMK. No problems at all.

I've been dealing with Brad for over 5 years and I've never once been let down by any of his work or his products, all top notch stuff, shiny as a mofo too and we all know that matters :D

Any big bore motor is going to need a little time on the snow and not every sled is created the same. I highly doubt that PAR will leave anyone hanging. He's dealing with a lot of people that all want his products for good reason so he's trying to work through the business end while helping everyone get fine tuned and solve their bugs too.

Anyone who has spent any amount of time talking to Brad or doing business with him knows he is not playing around and his number 1 priority with PAR is motors making big power, reliably.

Man this is very sad!

I feel for you Dan, we constantly have bigger companies close in on us. But thanks to our loyal customer's it hasn't effected us more than the worries that come with being in that position.

Sure hope PAR can make it right with you Dan, more than the legal part of it. Really hurts to be cheated or taken advantage of when all your trying to do is be a friend and help. Not only PAR but the industry as well...

I would think there is enough room for both companies and since Dan doesn't specialize in BB and PAR trying to create this solid running monster BB, it sure would be nice if this 910 can live up to its expectation.....

Some years ago Brad spent the evening (Friday night) on his cell phone diagnosing my BB and after he figured it out he told me how to fix it quick&cheap. He could have sold me the parts but rather he told me it would take time for shipping ect. So he had me buy a Polaris part and explained how to mod it to fit my modded BB only to get me back on the snow ASAP. For the record he did not sell me the motor nor the sled..

That's my only encounter with Brad and thought nothing short but HE DA MAN..
Because of Brad I was up running in no time, not to mention he saved me a few bills on top of it.

That being said I never seen this one coming.....

I can only hope there has to be something good to come from this?

dan, seriously, as so many others have already told you, you aren't doing yourself any favors jumping up and down on the forums ranting and raving and trash talking someone else. we all get it, you don't like brad, and feel he is a bad guy. or at least screwed you over. true or not, brad is actually being the smart one here by simply staying out of it. as a small business owner myself, i would highly suggest you do the same. your reputation for motor building stands on its own and i would hate to see that diminished or you not to be around (either as a builder or a member on here) b/c of this whole situation. you offer too much valuable info to be lost, imo.

to be honest, i really don't care who screwed who, and was simply asking LH if he has a logical reason for sending his brand new crank to you to have the rod's switched out or if it was simply a matter of emotion/spite/anger. if both rods are equal then it would be pretty silly or at least a complete waste of money to have them swapped out.

good luck with the lawsuit, my feeling is the only winner will be the dirt bag lawyers (general reference to all lawyers, not one specifically :face-icon-small-coo) hopefully cooler heads will prevail, everyone will cut there loses, and continue to provide quality sled products to our community.

They use a pcV but also soften the det sensor & change the timing by flashing the stock ecu. Something I was hoping they would sell as a service to the public but no luck:face-icon-small-fro

Dan that doesnt really sound like forum material. Epecially this thread. Sounds more like somethig that should be hashed out between the busenisses involved
