Pants? Or Bibs?

I prefer pants But I am looking at new gear and a lot of manufactures have just pants or pants with straps. What Do you guys on snowest like better?

Pants because you can control your body temp better and also its less bulky.

I run bibs. Main reason is when I do sink up to my arms in snow I dont want to have to worry about any snow somehow getting inside my gear.

X2.... Not a big fan of cold snow down my backside. Bibs all the way

Klim Stealth, then you have both, bibs when it's colder and alot of pow, pants when it's warmer. :)

I ride with Klim's Free Ride pants. Had bibs, ditched them for pants, I just like how they ride better. With the snow gator in the jacket I have never worried about snow down my when landing in deep powder.

I personally love my bibs. But I must admit, when the spring conditions come out, I usually switch up to my pants. A lot of that has to do with mobility on the sled, and not being so bulky. I found that I had to run a size up in bibs in order to move around the sled like I want to, hence the bulky statement. My pants let me jump around and have full motion of my legs without the bulkiness. Then again, when it comes to full blown spring riding, I am usually wearing my MX gear......

I'm just waiting for one of the Cat riders to ask why a skirt isn't one of the choices.

I'm kidding, I'm kidding! Stop the hate mail!

It is a KILT not a skirt you dumb flatlander.

The KILT is how you commoners see we have big ka-honas as the Cat jumps over your head. LOL

In our experience most people choose one or the other for only a couple reasons. Here are the small lists that we compiled.

Pants
~Cheaper than Bibs
~More Maneuverable
~Less Material on Chest / Less Hot
~Belly Doesn't Fit in Bibs (Happens more than you think.)

Bibs
~No snow down the back.
~More pockets
~No rear end to hold pants up with
~Wanting the most coverage to stay the warmest.

Those really are the basic reasons that we see. Then you start getting into the detail items like color, sizing, fit, features, waterproofness, padding, zippers, etc to which are not necessarily specific to pants or bibs.

I like bibs better as they keep me warmer when riding in extreme cold and also keep the snow out of the butt crack !!!

I'm getting old, and fat.
When I ride with the 'getting old and fat' crowd I wear bibs, but when I get to hang with the 20-something, sled boarding cool kids, I rock the pants.

I buy 'em 4 waist sizes too big so I can sag 'em. The lime green ones are my faves.

It's important to blend in.

Klim Free Ride pants with the Klim suspenders.

One of the main reasons is due to the Tekvest. With bibs and a Tekvest it just isn't quite as comfortable as the pants with the Tekvest. Plus with the added material on your chest and back with bibs, the Tekvest gets warm really quick!!

Bibs. Warmer, and they keep the deep dry snow out that we have up here...especially when digging out stuck Cats :face-icon-small-ton

i used to wear bibs. tried the pants a few years back and would never go back. I have the straps that go on them tho to help hold them up witch i like also. One reason is my belly kept getting in the way of the bibs hahaha. One thing I would like is to tell all the manufactures is that not only skinny guys sled, its hard to find pants or bibs over a 2xl and most of the sizes run way smaller than they say. Never understood that in the clothing manufacturers. Just my 2 cents worth.
