okay im typing with one arm and im flying on percasit so forgive anything that doesn't make sense. Admin I think as paid members we should be able to dish our green rep as much as we would like i hat that the thanks button can lock you out of giving real rep. Anyone agree? limit red unlimited green hey its our site!

I think they should remove all that stuff. It is just a game for most and seems to be used as a popularity contest then something meaningful.

I agree to some extent...it's sort of like a performance review from your manager that doesnt have a clue yet at the same time there are days when he is right.

The rep thing is arbitrary thats for sure and there are some that pass it to their friends for no reason.

The post count is a waste of text. There are some that have one line little responses that dont say squat. There are some that offer technical information that is beyond just valuable and they get the same point as someone that always types a one liner like they just want to "be involved" even if it is unproductive and a waste of space on my monitor.

All in all what you have to do is just read thru the forums and after a while you will know who is intelligent and who is just trying to be on a social networking site.

Point in mind: I have had some of the best information and the best personal help from some that dont have the best rep. I have had wrong information from a few that have good rep. None the less it isnt rocket science to learn, just like in real life, who has credibility. To me I read what I see and make an educated assesment..I dont really care what the green bar say for the most part.

I don't understand how the whole "rep power" thing works - I just found out that some people have more power to "neg rep" you than others do- and I don't care one way or the other.

But I do like the option of giving a thumbs up or a thanks comment when i like what someone has said. Sometimes I don't feel like quoting them just to say thanks- it's easier just to hit the thanks button.

This is one of the things in vBulleten that they do NOT give the Admin any control over. This value is the same for all membership categories and I can't change it for one and not for the other
