Riding Wolf Creek shortly here. Whats the better town to stay in coming from the Denver area South Fork or Pagosa Springs? Looking for a nice reasonable hotel with hot tub, a few places to eat, maybe a grocery store?? Also better easier access to riding good riding areas.

Any advice or opinions are appreciated.

South Fork or Pagosa

Hey i would def look in Pagosa, its more of a town than South Fork, more hotels, more restaurants, hotsprings, grocery store open passed 7 etc. South Fork is more like a gas stop in the road..not much going on in that economy..

Yep, we chose to stay in Pagosa because there were more places to stay and eat. There are gas stations on both sides. I know there is a Polaris dealer in Pagosa if you need one, not sure about the other brands. Plus there is the hot springs on the Pagosa side if you want to sit in one of those stinky pools.

The polaris dealer in pagosa sucks. Everyone I know from there goes to durango for polaris goods. Pagosa is a better stay as well, if a hot tub is on the agenda then you should stay at the hot springs there. As a hotel guest you can soak 24 hours. Meaning when it shuts down to tourist you can go soak in privacy. For eating, check out the hogs breath saloon. We make it tradition to stop there and have some steak and shots after riding.

Pagosa is the best place to stay early in the season when you will be riding the summit area , later when the snow is better I like to stay in south fork and ride out of park creek or tucker ponds up to the summitville area. Depending on you desire for night life etc. Pagosa may be a better choice year round

Durango (The DUMB CENTER) for parts?ARe you Nuts ?? You must like retail + and people who have NO IDEA what the F@@K they are doing? A 321115 belt is 196.58 at the Dumb center! worst STEALERSHIP I have ever been in hands down.

alright thanks guys. Pagosa it is. Where's the best place to unload early season generally if not tucker pond area? Thought that area would be the best option as of now.

I def do not pay 196.58 for my belts and not to start a bickering match but Shane in service always takes great care of my sled. To each his own but my sled needs are always met there. To touch on that belt price again.... That is the suggested retail price from polaris. As a polaris dealer I am pretty sure Lyle got into that business to make money. Just saying.

No pissing match ! 196.00 is well above retail.

I own a business too. I undertstand about making $$ . reatil + no sorry

service. I wont start

I only suggest the Polaris dealer in Pagosa in case you need some parts. We went there to buy a mtn bar and they had one. I certainly don't suggest shopping for mod parts. Just if you need stuff.
