I have a friend that is doing it. He's not doing the diet, but doing the rest and is still seeing pretty good results.

Thinking of giving it a go, but the Warden won't let me buy the program without a huge fight. Since I'm not in the mood to argue I thought I'd ask if anyone has a copy I could borrow to either get the routine or make a copy.

i thought you werent interested in doing p90x?

hows the progress from your first attempts at cutting weight coming along?

the diet isnt needed, you will obviously always burn fat as long as you burn more calories than you take in, but as far as nutrition into your body, the better the foods you eat, the better results you will get. the more natural your diet, the easier it will be for you to replenish your body with the good nutrition and vitamins it is missing from your normal everyday foods. therefore, your body will appreciate the good nutrition and your mind will be more free and brain process will be better, and you will feel more alive the more "good" food you eat. make your own smoothies from certified organic fruits, and eat potatoes. even though they have plenty of carbs, carbs are your best friend if you use them right. and potatoes have important vitamins as well.

uhm.. no i dont have a copy of p90x. lol.

honestly, if you just go on a nice jog everyday, eat right, drink ice water (your body burns calories when it heats up the super cold water) and lift (doesnt have to be the body builder type of lifting) and use the stairmaster ( stairmaster will destroy fat alone ). as long as your as motivated for that as p90x, your results will be pretty similar.

you will burn plenty of calories. start your day off with a cup o joe (coffee) a jog, and 20-40 pushups. that will get your body's motabolism kicked into high gear throughout the day. no need to spend money on that kind of stuff.

It's not going as well as I like. Only lost a couple pounds. But a couple old HS friends have shared pics and it has changed them. They told me what they are doing is not as insane as people believe.

I figured I try it and see if I can fit it into my daily crap that I always have to do.

My day starts at 430am, I have to leave at 5am and I have to report to my office at 530am every day. Any excerise will have to be done in the evening at home. It's too hard to get out of the house with young kids.

I have a treadmil that inclines, I have a heavy bag, speed bag and weights. My main goal is to increase core stregth to assist my back troubles and rehab my shoulder. It pops out if I reach above my head and put any pressure on it. It's fine otherwise.

hell, give it a try then. you'll never know for yourself if anything works unless you try it out right? all it takes to achieve anything is motivation. some people do need programs like p90x to keep them motivated and driven as far as fitness goes.

and im serious when i say be just as motivated about your diet as you should be with p90x and you will love life. your body will love you too. the only thing that sucks about bein in good shape with good nutrients throughout your body, is when u have that McSkillet burrito craving, and inhale one of those down, you'll feel like crap and want to take a nice nap.

We really don't eat that bad. Most mornings I have Oatmeal, lunches are leftovers from dinner.

Usually have pizza one night a weekend, but other than that, just chicken, pork chops or elk, with some green crap on the plate too.

as amazing as pork tastes try to stay away from it especially if you will be doing the p90 program. its a dirty meat. pigs dont have sweat glands so alot of their toxins go into their meat. and with a rigerous excersise program, that activity help put the toxins into parts of your body.

if you want some good recipes, let me know im a natural chef and can fix you up with some really quick delicious ideas.

You could use bonus money....

If you are serious I have some great workouts, but they require probably more then you have at home for weights and are made for adding muscle not cutting weight. I also have some basic stuff I do at home that is good. Let me know

Not gonna lie, do Bob Harper (biggest loser) Yoga for an hour once a week. I am a pretty fit guy, maintain my strength well, etc (minus cardio, a fat man would kill me in anything more then a sprint) and the first time I did his yoga I was sweating and shaking and done 15 minutes into an hour program.

Or you could do my routine that I do when I can't go to the gym.
do as many push-ups as you can in 1 go(aim for 45-55) immediately roll over once done and crank out 50 situps/crunches. Then take a small breather 2-3minutes. Next roll back over and do a plank for 1 minute, then go on your side and do a side plank for 45seconds, and switch sides and repeat.

Now, do that 3x(total) with less push ups each time obviously but go down by 5-10 each time and then once finally done do 50 more crunches/situps.

Its pretty easy, no weights required and hits a lot of important muscles. Once you get better try to make it more difficult with bicycle situps and widepushups with your feet elevated ect ect. Have fun!

Torrent it off the Pirate Bay...seriously.

If you like it, buy it and give the guy the money he deserves. If you don't, well...

I torrented P90X and Insanity. I don't use P90X. I have since bought the original Insanity as well as Asylum because I like the programs and they work.

Pj if you are rehabbing a shoulder you might want to wait on the p90x. Day 1 you are going to be doing pull ups or modified lat pull downs with bands and a chit ton of push ups. Day 3 you will be doing shoulders, triceps, and biceps. Great work outs but probably not if your shoulder pops out it it goes over your head.

Just do plyo x everyday and you will be running around like a deer lol.

if its not on pirate bay try mininova.

I don't know squat about running bit torrents. I can squeeze approx 1 hour in the evenings. I get home at 430-500pm. Then it's dinner, helping the big kid with homework and Tues/Thurs it's off to hockey practice (the kid, not me), showers and baths, then I have time to myself.

What I have:

A weight machine that I can do bar curls, seated butterflys, seated bench and lat pulldowns. I have adjustable weight dumbells, a big ball, treadmill, heavy bag and speed bag (I like punching sh*t) and some big machine that tones your butt or something.

We have no gyms here, towns of 1200 generally don't.

I wanna lose weight and keep or increase my strength and stamina (endurance). Living at high elevation, I don't get winded much unless I'm digging some dude out of 5' foot of powder (yes, sometimes it's me). But I can hike for miles in the thickest most up/down nasty crap searching for the elusive wapiti. Weigh in at 220 (ish) and was thinking that 190 (ish) would be ideal. I don't need the washboard stomach or toned body that would make a statue jealous. I'm 38 and married, who do I need to impress? LOL. Just wanna get in shape and stay that way.

Bonus hasn't come yet. Another week. LOL

I am intertested, I don't mind adding muscle to replace pudge, but moving down to 190 would be sick. Still big, but with my frame I'd be lean. Basically, my issue is the gut. I don't have a dunlop by any means tho.

A plank??

its push up position with your forearms down instead of your hands, it works your core muscles which work to stabilize you. But if you have a bad shoulder you may or may not be able to do them depending on. But yeah, All I ever had at home was a weight bench, a preachers curl stand, and some free weights so besides benching(which im hella good at since I have one at home LOL) I typically do a lot of core stuff and running. all of which is pretty cheap but boring -.-

You can do them on your hands as well...harder.

then get cocky and raise a leg, then raise a leg in side planks.

PJ I will try and write down what I do tomorrow and send it to ya.

Running outside is impossible here in the Winter. More often than not it's 0°f or colder at night. It's not good to breathe in that cold of air and I cannot afford to get sick. I do run on the treadmill while the stereo is cranked or the TV is on, just to break up the monotany of the rythmic foot pounding.

it looks like you have most of the tools you need. it would be nice to get a bench so you can do the bench press, flys, headbangers etc. I have had good results with similar equipment at home. the other thing that helps is lean protiens. I take quite a bit of protien supplements and eat alot of turkey. it sounds like we might be built similar, i'm 6'1" and about 240#'s. i have gained about 15#'s since i started and lost 6" on my waist since i started. I wasn't going for weight loss though i was trying to add muscle so i guess it depends on what you are trying to do.

I try to lift for 1 hour 3 times per week after work and always change your routine to shock the muscles. I also go heavy one day every other week.

I'm 38. Getting heavier is not my plan. I'd actaully like to lose 20-30 and stay there.

Leaner and meaner, ya know?

honestly, how much of an initiative have you taken to get in better shape since you started wanting to make a change?

have you started with a decent diet? pushups or a jog in the morning? As far as purchasing a product such as insanity to help you get in shape or loose any unhealthy weight, the money would be relatively cheap compared to any possible future hospital visits for a heart attack, or repeated episodes of health problems down the road. hospitals are spendy. trust me. i would know.

mention that to your wife and maybe she wont be so against you buying it. but if you buy it, you have to use it with dedication or it will be a waste of money.
