OVS Propane Turbo + spare buddy tank :)

Ok Mr.................heres the question. Whats it going to take to put5 LPG on a twisted 1000? :)

Its perfectly feasible to propane the 1000. They are flowing alot more CFM but a blown through 425 and properly setup vaporizer(s) should be able to support it just fine.

Its simply a market share philosophy. They go where the money is at like anyone would. I'm sure they already have been playing with LPG setups on the 1100t and new 800. Maybe a propane Pro? But simply the 1000 is no longer being produced and to focus on it would put them behind the curve on the latest and greatest. But like everything, if the demand is there I'm sure they will consider it.

Propane 1000

Slediot I pm'd you Will talk to Travis next week. And for everybodies info I didn't tighten nthe clamp on the mixer enough after the intercooler install and as Klimbing Kitty noted it blew off at the top of the run right after I lost boost. Won't happen again as I re-checked all my clamps Ha Ha.

Could you post some pics of the inter-cooled setup? Whats the recommended boost with it? Thanks

intercooler pics

When we get together this weekend I'll get Klimbing Kitty to take a few pics and post them. I'm not very computer literate especially posting pics. Thanks for being patient guys

converter

The converter was moved back towards the airbox and I had to cut out some of the aluminum were the old plenum chamber used to sit and attach to the throttle bodies. I proped the front of the hood up on two stands for max air flow to the cooler worked well. Before the intercooler I could not run back to back repeated runs at anything over 10#s one run at 14 and I had to cool it down or det sensor went off. Now I did 12 repeated runs no cool down time at 12 and 14#s.. Definitely worth the $. Because of our low elevation max 7000 it makes great power at 12 and 14#s . But unfortunately I'm done for this year so 16#s and up will have to wait for next year. Just for everybodies interst I was running 60/60 gearing and it made a huge speed difference.:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap

Thanks for the info. I put a skinz hood on my sled the last few trips. I felt that made a huge difference as well. Defiantly kicking the thought of an intercooler around though.

Same here, running the Skinz hood in the spring and never had a heat soak issue yet! Get a couple more pulls in before setting off the DET due to intake temps as well. Will run 12# boost all day with the Skinz Airframe hood no problem, problems for me start at 14# with DET, running 6-7000ft on average, need a better track for sure! :face-icon-small-hap

"Accidentally" ran 22lbs for a few pulls in front of Burandts guest ranch by Bear and Diamond mountain, something like 8400ft elev. It was an early morning run and just for a few rips so heat soak wasn't a factor but regardless it did not det, just stretched my arms out a bit:) I am so head over heels in love with propane turbo power now. Compared to gas it is so engine friendly at boost levels that pump gas (let alone race gas) I can't see ever touching. And it can sometimes idle at a lower rpm then the stator can even make power to light up the gauge! Took me all season to get there due to a boost leak I was chasing that I wasn't aware of but of course on the last day of my season in april everything worked out. Wish I would have had clutching spot on for that day, ran 16 lbs no problem other than I put way too much heel weight in and created a longer lag than I wanted. Once it was lit up though man it was a beast!!!

Sled is for sale though. Have a 12 on the way and will consider propaning it as well when they get done making a kit for it. If it doesnt sell, no biggie, love that sweet lady propane man, it is out of this world! Most unique sled ever. Gets more looks than anything I have ever driven.

I'll say, had a guy come in to the restaurant we were eating in for supper with his family just to quiz us up about the Propane Sleds. Just rode Revy in JUNE!! Great times, cant wait for next winter! Intercooler?? I am thinking so!!
