Out of state permits....

Can you purchase the out of state permits in Walden anywhere besides the State Forest office in Walden??? I usually buy mine on-line but forgot until now. Note on the site says because of the holiday on Monday the will not be processed until the 16th.....well they will not be here in time on Thursday when we leave.... Thanks!!!!!!!!

If you drive through Steamboat you can pick them up at Steamboat Powersports.

I can't think of a place in Walden to buy one. Only places that I can think of are Powerworld in Granby coming up RT40 or Felkers in Loveland and then up RT14

Maybe try calling Dave @ North Park Inn & Suites?? He is a great guy and can probably give you some other ideas since he is right in Walden and a sledder.

There is some info from January here that says Steamboat Powersports did not have the out of state permits, but the Steamboat Chamber of Commerce did have them.

I could be wrong but when we called out there to figure out where to get permits over New Year's. We were told the Sheriff's Office was open 24/7/365. Might not hurt to give them a call... FYI they only take cash too.

Out of state permits

We got ours at the sheriff's office in the courthouse. Go in the west door and down the stairs. They took a check from us for the permits. No paperwork to fill out just give them your money and they'll give you the permits.

Just FYI on the out state permits, Forest Service does not sell them and neither does the Shell station, they only sell the OHV permits. The only place is the Sheriffs office, cash or check only and you better have the exact change if you are paying cash..... little bit of running around but we got them and we are having a ball riding!!!!!!

Are you talking the sheriff's office in Walden? We are coming out this week and need permits also.
