oregon riders

You need a non resident trail sticker. Equivalent of our snow park pass. Around $30, get them on line or call Carl's cycle pay with a cc and they will mail one to you.

dont know about the laws, but i have been riding in idaho for over 30 years and take my kids alot. never had any issues with law enforcement except for registration sticker issues. my kids have been piloting their own machines since age 6. they have been on numerous poker rides and other events with the law present and nothing has ever been said. still have 3 kids without drivers licenses, and they ride by the cops all the time.

no worries about the drivers license. Only place I know around here that requires it is Yellowstone Park. Non Res sticker and you're good to go.

I would recommend that if you have a license that you carry it. We had some friends get stopped at Tollgate (i know this is a thread about ID riding...but just keep reading....) and there was a local cop and a federal cop. The federal cop ticketed these people for not having their driver's licenses with them. The local cop did not ticket the people he was talking to - even though they didn't have their dl either. Now if they aren't old enough to have a license, then I'm not sure what they would have done. Just something to consider - regardless of where you ride.

just for fun, i did a google search on "oregon snowmobile requiremnts", and, if i read the pages correctly, those below the legal operating age and not in possession of a valid drivers license must have completed a snowmobile safety course and procur their validation and certificate, blah, blah. so, the way i understood the verbage is that you must complete a safety course in your state to operate a snowmobile. not such a bad thing, if you think about it, and it read as though it was free, so flash your pass and ride on. and, on a side note, referring to oregongirls comment, and this is only my opinion, obviously your state is recieving federal benefits ($) and the fed cop was just pushing his weight against the locals to make sure my money was being spent as designated. sucks to have to look over your shoulder.

shw probly mean the forest service cops on tollgate. that is the problem up there is that u have 2 diffrent countys and the forest service so u get a lot of diffrent intake on the law it sucks trust me. i ride with a buddies that races and like to ride his race sled and wow some cops said ok and the outhers say nope u cant ride it if u cant regester it. but i started the post to get to try to know idaho laws, u guess in jjust might be ttter for me to google the laws.

I know that if you buy a snowpark sticker in oregon or washington they are good in calf, or, wa and Idaho . they are national forest park permits. it says that on the back paper that peels off.
