ordering a soft top today for the truck

I work for these guys.... www.realtruck.com I'm an account manager/purchasing agent. Both of them are really good covers. The Access Cover is made here in town, so there's tons of them around. Either one would be a good choice. The Lorado sits a little lower than the Truxedo. If I was looking to buy any new roll up cover, I'd take a hard look at the Truxedo Deuce. It rolls up like a regular cover, but the front part has a hinge that folds back so you can get to the front of the bed. It makes getting at cargo that slides to the front of the bed way easy.

If you'd like, I can try to swing you a little better deal. Call and ask for Matt.

prices are within about 20 bucks of each other...

I bought the Truxedo QT. It's low profile like the Access ones but the rails are held on with the quick clamps and also it comes off once rolled up with a simple flick of each slidder on the front. Makes for great ATV loading so you can use the full capacity of the box without hitting the rolled up portion. I just wish they would have had this a long, long time ago. It makes almost the perfect cover!

I have a Truxedo(not sure which model) on my '04 D-Max and I don't really like it. All the Lorado's I've seen I like better. just my .02

Why don't you like it? I know the original ones, (had square edges) were great and durable but people wanted a more low pro design. Then they came out with the ultra cheap version and it was junk. (Maybe you have that one?) I had the original, and now I have the new low profile QT and absolutely love it.

Truxedo is also unreal on their warranty program. I had the rail velcro loose it's velcroness on my original cover. Called up, they sent me a full set to slide in, no charge and no returns. My dad had the same thing a few years back and they did that for him as well. They seem to care about their customers. I'm constantly rolling it up and putting it back down due to the amount of ATV hauling I do. As with any cover though you need to have it tight and not to forget to secure it down along the sides.

I think they are all pretty close really, I like the Truxedo for the reasons I stated and they also have a thicker material then the others. One other big reason as well is all the grain hauling trucks have the roll covers on the semi's made by Truxedo (Surco) so that says a lot right there. They do know what they are doing when it comes to truck covers.

i had the original access cover on my last pickup. went with the lo-pro loredo on my current truck. would take the original over the loredo as the lo-pro design makes it more difficult to keep tight than the original. just might thoughts. both good covers
