wondering what everyone wheres for lens color? specifically if its an overcast day? went riding the other day when it was really overcast and had on yellow lens and just couldn't really see any definition in the snow.

Every one is different. I have a set of yellow glasses (prescription) that work great for me on those flat light days. Guys I ride wih use everything from different tints of yellow to silver and even orange!(atleast they look orange to me) You just have to find the right color for your eyes. :beer;:D

i have had good luck with the brown lense. it seems to provide the best contrast for most lighting conditions.

I bought the Scott 89XI with the lenses that change from blue to clear depending on light. DO NOT go with those. They blow. A few hours into the ride, all I could see was blue diamonds in the lenses. Went straight to the dealer, and bought the rose colored ones.

Not too sure how much I'll like them, but I enjoy trying new things. I loved the orange ones on my spy goggles. They seemed to work well in all conditions. If Scott made orange lenses, that's what I'd have!

I use bolle goggles. If you where looking at me with my helment on it would be a smoked color. but if you lookin out the helment its red or amber.

I always thought blue would be a good color because if you look at a steep rise in the snow you can see a light blue color. So I thought that a blue lens would expose more of that blue to let you know that the terrain is changing in flat light.

best thing is to have several pairs of goggles with your favorite color lenses for different light conditions. i happen to love spy goggle frames and their snow lenses. i have 5 pairs of them, i have all their lens colors. i keep a pair of the blue chrome (used the most) dark tint bronze/chrome (for bright days), rose for overcast days, persimon for flat light days, and clear for the ride home after dark. the rest of the lens colors i use are spares of my favorite colors, or when needed, or want to try something different.

best thing i can tell you is not to use a colored lens for dark at all. no substitute for clear after dark. ski

Goggles

All i can say is yellow/amber are my preference seem to be able to see the best(a little rain x on the outside and your set):D

day; night; bright; cloudy - rose. have tried and given up on everything else for one reason or another over the years.

I really like my pro grip goggles with the light sensitive lens. It changes depending on the light around it. When the sun is out they go gray, If it is cloudy they are clear. I have had a great experience with these goggles. I am sure that other brands make a light sensitive lens.

I have used Spys with the blue lens for many years and love them. This year though I bought the 509's with the orange lens. I have only ridden with them once, but so far they seem nice, not too good after dark though. I keep a set of clear goggles in my pack for getting back at night.
