online maps of the snowies

Wyoming state used to have a site where you could access the maps online. I can't find it anymore. Have they taken it down?

I am not talking about ordering the maps, just the online maps that you could pull up online.

Anyone know what happened to em?

It's been down for a few months now - I've tried searching a few times this fall but haven't been able to find anything.

I think this is where it used to be:

http://wyotrails.state.wy.us/snow/srmap.htm

This one isn't helpful... (or at least I don't find it helpful)

http://www.coloradodirectory.com/maps/snowmobilesrange.html#mapinfo

This one is a little better - still doesn't show the lettered trails
http://www.goin2wyo.com/recmap.asp

Hopefully they are working on updating the maps and they will be posted over the next few weeks?????

Have any of the online mapping been updated.
Plan on going to the Snowies in March, looking for info

But you can follow Hwy 130 on the google earth map and find areas to venture off the main trail from there... There will also soon be a nice tool out soon to overlay road/roadless areas onto google earth maps so we know exactly where we can/can't go. Stay tuned for it this upcoming season... :beer;

Maybe I am blind, but..............
I see where you can order maps.
What I am looking for is the online maps were you can look at the maps online like you used to be able too.
Are they no longer doing that?

I can't use 130 as a reference point for the directions I give people. It is more like, when you get to the intersection of W and N, turn left 100 feet and then take a hard right between the tree that looks like Abe Lincolns head and the pile of rocks that look like a snow bump.

Did you just give away your secert spot;) JK

One of these days when the area gets a little better known by more people I will post up the rock run. Litterally you take a hard left at abe lincolns head and wheelie over the rock pile and your home free.

I have seen you mention that about abe's head several times. You either have a much more active imagination than I do or I'm driving by too fast because I haven't seen honest abe standing along side the trail.

It's a dead tree. When it gets a good covering of snow it looks like abe's hat. Not really his head, but his hat.

Is this for real?, because I'm going to be looking for this turn, hat, and jump!

The turn hat and jump, yes.
The trail markers, no.

It's an area outside of Albany. Leads to a series of small meadows seperated by dense trees. We save that run for a REALLY good storm since once we lay down tracks everyone seems to follow.

We kind of make up names of places so we know where we are talking about without telling anyone where it is.
Places like.
Cage
Mangina meadows
5 fools
Death drop (it's a waterfall, NOT FUN)
Side hill
Rock run
Pauls play area

Stuff like that.

Both of those would be awsome.
Would love to do an overlay on the GPS.
I may not get lost as much (ok, so I prob. will, but at least I will be able to figure out where I am).
