Onesie Discussion

88gt your mom said you looked good in your old onesi you really need a new one

And this guy rides like he is three-two. Good luck with you're new gear. To each his/her own... I'm looking forward to the reviews from the 40 plus crowd who remember;)

and when i wake up most mornings, my body feel like it's nine-two! thanks for the compliment. seriously, it is to each his own. i wasn't down with the one piece a few years ago but things change. the main thing i think the guy who started this thread was questioning function of a two piece vs. one piece. again i haven't experienced anything from either side to make it a no brainer.

jeff

ps. however, i will say i won't be rolling a man purse (murse) any time soon

I'll be 46 next month and went with a FXR monosuit beging of last season. I would do it again. Don't care what people think I look like in it as long as it works for me. Fred

They work good, period. Just a preference thing. I had one but ripped out the crotch down past the knee, kind of sucks because then I was SOL on the whole thing, not just the coat or bibs. Back to coat and bibs now beings I had spare bibs laying around. I would certainly go back to one though! I really like the way the klim one fits vs the tobe I had, just a tough pill to swallow at $900.

New Onesie came in just in time for some garage riding!

Avy onesies??

I'm trying a Scott onezie this year. Main reason is no snow down the pants or up the jacket. Also...these suits are about $750 CDN, so actually a good bit less than a set of bibs + a jacket in Klim or MF. The Scott suit is a little cheaper than the others, but seems to have all the same features and I really liked the fit. A little less baggy than a TOBE.

If the MF onezie is anything like their jackets and pants...you may need to be on the portly side for it to fit good. Average to skinny dudes just swim in their stuff from my experience....everything is kind of "square" in shape.

As well as they hold the farts I think you might really be onto something, attach a few BB gun co2 cartridges and maybe a beacon sewn in there somewhere too. ;) :face-icon-small-ton

As CO2 is an asphyxiant, you may want to rethink your gas of choice. One breath of CO2 and you're dead. So you just bought yourself a very expensive body bag. FWIW

Little different set of priorities running around the interior of AK in the winter......like not freezing to death!
Up there, I had wool bibs over longjohns or fleece, under my snow pants and as many layers as needed on top to stay warm.
I'd consider one at -20 to -30F.
Down here, I consider it a good day if it doesn't rain on me, up on the hill in February!
Still fart bags I say.....

MAYBE TRY HELIUM YOU CAN FLOAT AWAY HAAHAHA... UP UP AND AWAY TO SAFETY!

I started using helium in my shocks years ago to help achieve a lighter sled. Excellent idea! Not only will it float you up in an avy it's lighter than co2;). I'm digging these Sumo onesies. Additional protection against trauma when jumping or tree bashing too! (Awesome post sleadhead685)

I have never been a big fan of the onsie fad. I got talked into trying them. I wore 3 different brands and absolutely hated 2 of them one was okay.

Last year I had the opportunity to put 19 days on the snow in a Motorfist Blitzkrieg (I would have had more but I was constantly fighting my riding buddies off that wanted to try it) So total this suit has easily 35-40 rides on it. Is still in great shape. Basically still looks new, other than some dirt and normal riding grime.

What myself and everyone that tried it found is that when built and designed properly with high performance technical materials the onsie is freaking awesome. If you go try a few of them on you will find; the MF one just fits a little better than the rest. If you pick them up; you will find MF is a little lighter than the others. They really are like riding in a pair of warm/dry pajamas. With the highly breathable eVent material and plenty of vents you can open it up and stay cool when it gets warm or close up and because your entire body is contained together you stay warm when it gets cold.

Along with my own experience I have rode with and talked with 30 or so people that rode in them last year. Not one person didn't like it. I ordered myself another one for this year. Yes $800 is a difficult pill to swallow and it isn't for everyone but as mentioned a jacket and bib set of equal quality would be 2-300 more. With the lifetime warranty Motorfist provides, you will be setup for a long time and those will be the most comfortable rides of your life.

I Tried a ToBe Last year and really liked it, ill pick up another one this year when they go on clearance, I always seemed to be getting snow up my back and get cold so it has made my riding more enjoyable, i stay warm all day. That being said i still have my old Klim gear just in case i do rip something that always does worry me but the tobe is tough no tears yet and i am hard on things. The ToBe is baggy which is good for me i am pretty stocky guy so things usually are snug on my legs and i have a tenancy to rip crotches out and i like the freedom the ToBe gives me. I also dont care what i look like when riding so that who look cool thing dont bother me i just wanna stay warm and dry. They avi vest help break up the color anyway. my 2 cents.

I am sorry.......Onsies are just the dorkiest looking gear on the snow!!! Somebody had to say it. :)

You have to draw the line somewhere. Flame away.
