one ski video thread

Yea, that was a close one, I was actually the one that went screaming by, My buddy had the camara. I saw him and he was slowing down, so I stayed on the throttle, if i would have lifted, he would have T-boned me for sure.

It was really fun! Firm snow in bottom and 10" pow on top. We could go pretty much anywhere. Sidehilling is a peace of cake ;-) Tree riding is a blast with these snowbikes!

The helmet cam vids are great, but I would like to see more 3rd person videos.
They give a you a better perspective as far the steepness of the terrain, even though its really hard to do.
It's hard enough volunteering to get off your bike and film all your buddies having all the fun. Let alone finding someone who is steady and really knows how to properly use a camera.
Problem is that i am the only one in my area with a snowbike, but I will be working hard to change that.

I had grand ideas this year to do a lot of filming with mtn-doo and it's just crazy how little time we've had to be able to connect on our own and put some good 3rd person film time in. I bought a really nice HD handheld camera (about $1200) before the season started in anticipation of creating some totally kick a$$ compilations, but we were having so much damn fun that you don't even think about it till the day is over.

Next year is the year we are going to do it. My wife has already been kicking my butt around saying "Remember that camera you bought and haven't used yet? Yea, why don't use move this paperweight off my desk!!". SHEESH! We will have some GREAT footage next season.... promise! We promise don't we Randy?? :D

I agree. Helmetcams can't really get the right perspective of the steep slopes we are riding. Helmetcams are easy to use, and therfore users tend to be a bit lacy. Just strap it on and record. A mix of helmetcam and a handheld camera shooting from distance, is probably the best to get a great video.
