Old Sleds.....

So today my buddy and i decided to take out a couple o his 98 summit 500 fans.... Oh Yea.. I was a blast, talk about a different ballgame when you have about 60 (if that) horse and 2' of new snow.. Pinned all day long! You really have to pick your line and pack the coal... awesome! Who else has a couple older sleds that you take out every now and then?

I have a 94 storm I run on the Grass some..

Its amazing how many people don't know what it is, whats even funnier is when they watch it from behind all the way down the track. LOL

I gotta agree. The most fun I had was last trip. I ride a big bore M9 w/ a 162. We dropped into a creek bottom and had a newbie on a older 600 RMK with a 136. He wasn't supposed to follow us down but did. Of course, he wasn't able to make it out. We were fighting over who was gonna get to ride it out and I won. It was all about track speed and sidehilling. I had a blast. My brother, who rides an M7 Turbo, rides 550 Polaris Fans at work checking powerlines. He said he has a riot everytime he gets on one of the 550's.

Me and my wife ride 95 A/C's and the kids have 2 88 500 fans a 340 fan and an 80 340 free air. Someday I would like to know what its like to ride a new pony but it won't be real soon. I hoping my job stays strong and there are alot of newer sleds for sale all cheap. Until then I will ride what i have an continue to mod it the best I can.

^^^ right on
I was just wanting to say that sleddin is fun whether you have 250 horse or 50... riding the small sleds was a blast, it puts you in a different mindset. it becomes a situation of where you can make it to... FUN

96 ac 580

Rode a 96 580 the other day, it was a nice rid down the trail but when your following your buddies on their newer sleds it is a good idea to bring pain killers, a quarter way through the day my back was already screaming.

not necasarily old....

but last winter we had some CRAZY deep baseless snow around us... so bad the trail was impasable with 162's.... the next day the trail was groomed so we could at least get in, BUT, my sled was busted so i had to ride the 03 F7 with the 136x13.5x 1.75 finger track.

wow, it was fun but it was a totally different ball game, got stuck going down some steep hills a LOT.

went riding with a buddy last week who doesnt have much money so he rides an early 90's indy 500 and i traded him for a bit just for old times sake. my first sled was a 94 XLT so it was close to what i use to ride. when i got off my REV and onto the indy i think i had a flash back! i played for 2 hours on that thing! i had so much fun on that thing! all the other guys heard was me laughing my arse off runnin around the medows. it was all fun and games until we got onto the rough a$$ trail. then i was trying to catch him to get my sled back lol. i was sore as hell the next day but it was fun to re-live the old days !

I learned to ride on a 1987 ski-doo electra 377:) Some of my best memories of snowmobiling are on that sled, with its short track, big yellow hood, no front suspension and some sort of torsion spring rear suspension. It was even better after a deer took a bite out of the seat:)

I like to get on my daughters 94xlt once in a while, what a blast! Try doing an OLD Iron Shootout with some of your friends, it doesn't get much better.:D

i have a old92 polaris sport 440 fan cooled i love taking out it make u work for everything. i have duct taped the thorrtle down before on power days. got stuck on the trail, going down hill. the only part i hate is if your buddy is stuck way up i have to just watch cause i cant make it up. and it has 11000 miles on motor and skid still has 125 in each hole it has been on fire brake but i dont think it will die. my kid has it now

I know where my 72 Cheetah is. I've considered getting that back for my kids to ride.
My dad bought it in 76 and I didn't sell it until 1997. We rode the piss out of that thing for 21 years.

We still have the 1958 Yukon King, '64 skidoo, '71 Poo colt but haven't rode them in decades. Eash has their little issues

last Saturday we went for a ride, I burned down the xp so I got to ride the 98 670 summit x for the day and the wife rode the 07 summit x. I would climb big hills and on the way down I would have to give it brake to slow it down off the hill and gas so it didn't flood, any day of riding is fun but I really missed my xp last weekend. I finally kicked the wife off when the group would stop so I could at least play a little bit before we ventured on. But even on the 98 I still had the time of my life.

I ride this 399 when I think I need a new sled..

I own an 09 m8 sno pro 153 for the mountains. I wasn't really crazy about riding my good sled while ditch bangin, so I bought a little short track 2000 mxz 500 to beat up. I have had a lot of fun on that sled and really ups the level of difficulty and thinkin.

My 96 670 Summit will get me in to enough trouble. If I rode one of the new mountain machines I would go places I shouldn't be.
