Old School Ski-Doo

Hello,

My wife rides a 03' ZX Summit 700 with a 151" track. She likes the sled but wants it set up more for her. She wants me to raise the bars (I don't blame her) so, how tall can I raise the bars with out changing any of the cables? We don't want to dump a lot of coin into this sled because this next season will probably be her last season on the sled.

The sled runs great so all we're going to do is clean up the engine compartment and do some clutch maintenance. The rear suspension is all jacked up (looks like a low rider) I think the rear shock is shot, anyone have a decent replacement option they would like to throw on the table? Another thing we need (like) to do is buy a different rack on the tunnel. The 03's have that ugly large rack with the huge tail light, she wants something a little more slimmer and "cooler" looking.

I plan to keep looking in the swap meet section on a new seat too. Her foam has broke down under the seat cover where she always places her knee. Maybe an upholstry (sp) shop can repair the foam?

Any sugestions would be great as we're going to be working on this sled this summer. You know how it goes, if the wife isn't happy no one is happy!

Thanks! ;)

You can go to a 3 inch riser without changing the cables, should be perfect for her aqs she is a tad taller than Jo, and her ZX we put 2 on. Once you raise the bars, get her a set of BRP handguards, since the heighth will get her hands colder.

Get rid of that POS bumper, and find a ZX boss seat in swap,( I think there is one there now) it should have a LED brake lite built in.

You better have an HPS can on it by now, or I will kick you in the gooch, also, peel off the pipe insulation and have it ceramic coated.

I raised my bars 5 in with no extentions. 4 in rise and 1 in rise on the bars works great. Boss seat was the best money I spent on mine. You can really feel the weight loss.

Can and Hood

I have a Dynoport can for the 02-03 summit 700 that I would sell for cheap along with a R&M mesh hood for that sled too. Between the two you would loose a bit a weight in the front. For little $$$$, I'm tired of looking at those things. PM if interested.

I put a 4" riser on mine without changing any cables.
The Boss seat is a great option. If you a stock seat pm me.

Thanks for the offer. The sled does already have a can on it ;) Where does a guy a buy risers for that sled? Fly?

Thanks!

Any riser manufacturer will work. make sure you get a pivot adapter... something like $15-20 from fly and then pick your adapter. If you need a 5" riser without buying a pivot adapter, I have a Gravity Worx riser that I would sell for cheap (it looks identical to Rox risers). It is a straight bolt on with no extra parts needed.

Let me know!
