Friendly is good too, like one stop shopping, wheres the mtn. updates that the friendly usally post, miss them

Sorry about that!!! Had to let an employee go at the beginning of the season, and no replacement, so I don't get to ride nearly as much as I'd like:mad:

Snow is excellent, but it's blowing like h*** out there right now.

Also, just a note on the Old Corrall...I really like the new managers over there. They are VERY community oriented and willing to help out everyone in town. And in a town this small, that is so important. Please give them a chance as they are doing their best to turn the place around. It may be bad for my business to plug the competition, but just having more people in town benefits everyone. Oh, and you can always buy your booze here at the Friendly as we are right next door.:beer;:D

I was up there the weekend before New Year's (Dec 28-30). My daughter and I stayed at the Friendly Store, and a couple who are friends stayed at the Old Corral. Since my daughter is only 17 and cannot go in the bars, we brought beer into the game room at the Old Corral and just hung out and played pool and had a good old time. The manager came in and introduced himself and showed us around -- seemed like a pretty good guy. We also brought our own booze into the restaurant. One person got a shrimp dinner and the manager said the shrimp wasn't up to his standards -- comped (the person who got it said it was good). I got sirloin & shrimp, but they accidentally gave me a ribeye instead -- it was very good and reasonably priced.

And the hot tub was NOT working that weekend, but overall I'd recommend it (if you can get over the fact that they don't sell/serve booze)...

Exellent place!!

We took 2 of Hawkeyes rooms when his group had a couple guys drop out of his trip..somehow had some miscommunications on scheduling and ended up not having one room reserved for our last nite...obviously we're irritated after riding all day and coming back in to find out one of our rooms is no longer ours!!. .. talked with the managers about it and they offered to comp us a pair of rooms down in Laramie. . .so we had to load up and travel down there before we got to clean up and find supper but as we were leaving at 4 am anyway it just got us on the road that much sooner. I would say that's exellent service -paying for 2 rooms in another motel- and showing a desire to take care of their customers..and what the heck??? ...bring in your own beer!!!! . . .on the flip side...the eatery directly across the road. . ..can't remember the name of it. . ..owner is telling people shut off their cell fones..not allowed, 30 minutes for drinks, hour for food, home fries were 2.50 or 3 bucks..that's fine except it was a total of 4 big french fries.. ..i would difinitely not recommend it! ..also..we stayed at the Mountain View hotel for 2 days and it was an awesome place..the owner, Ev, is a really cool lady and many kudos to her as well!!!

We have stayed at the Mountain View a couple times and like it for the group we bring usually (college age guys that can sleep about anywhere), but we have also stayed at the Friendly Store. Depending on the group we bring we still like the Mountain Veiw, but sometimes end up at the Friendly Bar. Have also stayed in Albany and would highly recommend that as well.

Would recommend the Bear Tree Bar as well food was good and they serve the devils water.

The bear tree has the best pizza. The old corral is a great place to stay but hell bringing your own beer up there is cheaper then buying beer anyways!

The bear tree's pizza is probably the best pizza I've tasted!
