I was looking my 2011 800 rmk and seen a oil leak/stain on the back side of the cylinder on the pto side where the cylinder meets the case anyone ever see this thanks kevin

My 12 is doing the same thing in the exact same spot. I was just going to keep an eye on it because I really don't want to pull the head to retorque the cylinder bolts.

Most likely it has migrated there from somewhere else, but if you want to make sure, clean everything off, apply some baby powder or foot spray that dries white, and run the machine. Watch for wet spots and that is where your leak is from. Not likely to be the base gasket if you are seeing oil, but anything is possible.

Saw it on mine as well........brand new with zero miles. Just cleaned it up and going to keep an eye on it. Probably just from assembly. I'd expect a problem soon if it's leaking.

Did it look anything like this? My sled has aroudn 350 miles on it when i saw this. It was dry to the touch, no residue on my fingers when i tried to touch it to see what it was. I beleive (this anyway...) is a combination of dust from the clutches/belt sticking to some assembly lube that they might have used to put it together. Which would explain why it is only on the PTO side. I sprayed it off with electrical cleaner/degreaser and it came off clean. Hopefully get a chance to ride it again if this system comes through with the snow their claiming.

06IQ.............. Mine was/is EXACTLY like that. An oily residue before riding, and it collected some belt dust like material after 100 miles. 100% as you have pictured.

EDIT: I also anticipate that it will disappear with some cleaning and further riding. I attiributed to assembly lube as well, but we'll see. Like I say, if it's actually leaking, we should notice a problem asap.
